
After La Zarra and Slimane, France has chosen Louane to fly the French flag in Basel on May 17. The young artist was chosen internally by France Télévisions, and the singer announced it on Instagram today.
Let’s get to know Louane a bit more and see what she can deliver on Europe’s biggest stage.
Who is Louane?
Louane, whose real name is Anne Peichert, is a 28-years-old singer, musician and actress born in Sainte-Catherine, France.

She participated in the French version of ‘The Voice’ in 2013 and reached the semi-final, but her career really started the year after when she played the lead role in the movie ‘La Famille Bélier’. She also released the song ‘Je Vole’ for the soundtrack of the movie which became a hit in France.
The next year, Louane released her first album ‘Chambre 12’ which includes the hit ‘Jour 1’ and in 2017, she released her second album ‘Louane’ in which she collaborated with multiple famous artists, including Eurovision alum Loïc Nottet (Belgium 2015).
Last year, the French artist released her fourth album called ‘Solo’ which features her hit ‘La pluie’, a pop and dancy song that defines a new era in her musical career.
From Paris to Basel
And 2025 begins at full throttle for Louane as she gets the huge opportunity to represent her country at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.
The young artist will follow Slimane who came 4th last year in Malmö, Sweden with the song ‘Mon amour’, after a powerful performance and amazing vocals.
According to several French media, Louane’s song for Eurovision is set to be released in February.
