After listening to all 16 songs, I feel this might be one of the strongest JESCs ever! Looking forward a lot to the show in two weeks! Here is my ranking and thoughts:
1.
- For christ sake, LET RUSSIA WIN! Splendid song, great singer, nice message. If not Russia is at least top 2, then it is something wrong...
2.
- Might be for me the best Belarussian entry in JESC ever. Modern and cool, the only thing that make it lose out is that it might be too mature to go all the way.
3.
- Fun and summerish song that I wouldn't be surprised will do rather well.
4.
- As always, a very very well made song. Feels perfect in #metoo times as well, might get extra votes because of that.
5.
- Really nice song that stands out this year. With a good draw will Ireland for sure do better than last year.
6.
- A Typical ESC-kind of ballad, but Misha is a very charismatic singer. Top 5 for sure.
7.
- Catchy and fun song from the country that has a lot worse placements than they deserve. Maybe too mature to work in the ranking this year though.
8.
- Feels very eastern european, but not solely in a bad way. Charismatic singer.
9.
- Rather decent popband-song. Very rare seeing boybands in JESC, I think that might be an advantage this year for NL.
10.
- Great singer, but a little too complicated song to make it work completly.
11.
- Cute 20s meet 70s touch. But I wouldn't be surprised if it ends in the bottom 3, two girls singing on stage never works (ask Sweden #15th04-06)
12.
- Want to like this more than I do. Too mature again for Macedonia. When will they learn...
13.
- Very Italian, almost too Italian for my taste. I couldn't even concentrate on the song, so I don't understand how it is so high in the rankings by some here...
14.
- While some are too mature, this is too childish. Pointless song, I am sure it will end last.
15.
- Like the singer, but man, the song is a complete drag. Really dislike it.
16.
- Zzzzzzz jesus this wasn't my cup of tea at all. But I didn't like Mzeo before the show either so who know, might change my mind completly.
Me if Russia finally wins JESC:
