Well, the title says it all! What are your top. 3 entries by every country that has taken part in Eurovision throughout the years. If you can't rank them, just post the 3 entries/country you prefer the most. It's ok if you just want to narrow it down to 1 entry / country (= your favorite entry from each country).

My top. 3 entries / country from 1956-2012:

I tried to rank but wasn't as easy as planned hehe, Morocco is not on the list since it only had 1 entry so nothing to rank, in some occasions I simply can't add 3 entries because the rest were just too unworthy to even be ranked - but I tried to be nice regarding most countries

You spend 2 hours writing this, haven't you?
One question - if you like Norway 1961 so much, then why didn't you want to vote for it in the BT back then? :?

Haha, sort of

Hmm, I think I gave it atleast some point then didn't I? If not either the group was generally good or I didn't like it at first listen, I have to admit it's a song that has grown on me.

You didn't give it any points, and you said that you didn't like the French part in it :?

Anyway... I was expecting you to have something else as your number 1 for Sweden... :?

So... I thought you would have a song in Swedish as your number one...

Anyway, what do you think of my top 3s?

Actually, I think we sent decent entries throughout the years, but I actually prefer those two very fresh ones... I dunno.

I will look at a bit more closely ;)

Great idea for a thread! :D If a country is not listed, it means I don't like any of their entries. If I've only listed one or two entries, it means those are the only entries from that particular country that I like.

Well, depends on how one looks at it :) Most of those songs aren't in my top 3 for any country, the ones in red but not bold are just songs I also like...

And the one in bold aren't necessarily songs I like alot either, they just happen to be in my own top. 3's aswell, but some top. 3's are a bit 'forced' if I didn't like a country's entries too much...

OMG, I don't usually rank songs, I do it only in the limit when I have no other option but let me start with some easier cases, will focus not on top 3, but on songs I love, I will do it with other songs later:

:hr: 1996-----2005------1995 (3 GREAT CROATIAN ENTRIES, LOVE THE 3 OF THEM, are all part of my all-time esc faves, but there are others on which I will focus later)
:by: 2007 Is the only song worth mentioning here, so it's even easier xrofl3
:rs: 2007-----2012------2008 (love them all, they are all part of my all-time favourite esc entries too)
:me: 2005 - One of my all-time favourite songs in ESC, otherwise same case as Belarus
:il: 1991 - Possibly my all-time favourite song in ESC, it's a masterpiece, a wonderful song and should obviously have won in 1991! (will complete this later, cause Israel is one of my favourite countries, considering their past entries of course, not their recent ones)
:ch: 2005 - Remains one of my all time favourites in ESC and was terribly underrated in ESC, should have won that year IMO.
 only some recent songs for now: 2008 (wonderful, love it, should have won in 2008) 2006 - Great lovely song, was criminally underrated and deserved at least top 5

I will proceed this work later, I will have a lot to say here. :D :D :D

:de: One of the great esc countries, considering their past entries. 'Theater' is certainly their best entry to me. It's one of ESC's masterpieces. 1982 was Germany's first victory ever with one of my 80's top 5. 1994, lovely entry and wouldn't have shocked me if it won (was better than the actual winner, IMO); 1999 in my opinion the last GREAT German entry. No, I'm not Lena's big fan. Her entry is only 'ok' to me. Not a bad winner, not the one I would have chosen either

:uk: Until 1998 this was certainly the best ESC country in history. Many great entries, so many I will only mention the last one I really really loved: 1998 (but I will mention more of their AWESOME songs later).

:sl: My favourite Slovenian entry is the one from 1995. A great quality ballad that is not referred as often as it deserved to be. It was easily one of my top 5 entries that year.

:se: xyaay one of my favourite ESC countries along with the UK, I like their past entries, but also their recent ones (however a bit less then their past songs). I'm going to focus only on one entry - 1995 - one strong and lovely ballad kind of underrated by most of the fans here, so that's why I mentioning this one. It was one of my 3 favourites back in 1995.
:tr: Terribly underrated in the past, some say they are terribly overrated now. 2004, 2008 and 2010 are their greatest 'recent' songs I truly adore. Turkey is one of the countries that being overrated or not, understood, along with Greece, what it takes to be well succeeded in ESC.

:cy: To end this 'second chapter' I want to refer Cyprus as one of the best 90's ESC countries. 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997 remain IMO 5 of the greatest entries from this decade. More recently, 2004 is one of the best 00's songs (and I'm still mad it didn't win the 21st Century game for Cyprus IOTAP)

Considering :se: I have one personal important notice to write: I like 2012 a lot, as some of you know. It was my top 2 this year and nothing will change that fact. But really, considering all the songs in ESC's history it's certainly not the best entry ever. IMO it's not even one of let's say 30 'all-time esc best songs' :? :?

I obviously respect and understand all the fans that knowing and listening to all the ESC songs have a different opinion. BUT I can't say the same about the members who only listen to the songs from 2005 on have that opinion. You don't like songs you want to like, it just happens. So it's pure bulls***t when I read something like this 'I don't listen to old songs cause I won't like them anyway'. It's not how things work really.

I believe that loving a song is like falling in love with someone. You don't know how, when and why it happens... This was such a sentimental detail, don't you think so? xcry1
