In my experience, there will always be 1 nation that will wait until the last few hours to vote. But it's your prerogative to have the longer deadline if you wish - I'll be voting this weekend

I'll be honest -- I prefer longer deadlines as I do a mass check of new contest debuts, how I did (unless someone tells me I've won -- when I the other contest*, I didn't show up for ~48 hours until someone Facebooked me), send new entries once, and other contest-related things every 7-10 days or so. There's been a few NF's I've missed entirely because they were a week long and I didn't happen to see them.

(Plus, the other place's contests tend to have 3-4 week voting periods.)

Wow. 9th in the waiting list already. I may be able to join by the end of the year I'm 7th in my return to the other contest.

* Stop laughing. Seriously. Stop laughing. I've finished places other than last in contests before. Honest.

The deadline was changed to 9th March (Wednesday).
