Today starts the world cup in Biathlon from a cold and sick Östersund! :p Sick since it has been said that the water has been poisioned by some parasite that makes it unable to drink it without boiling it, many has become sick of it, but none of the athletes as far as I know. Tonight the ladies will start their cup, The gold-medalist in the Olympics Magdalena Neuner is sick (not by the parasite) and has went home already and hopefully Helena Ekholm (former Jonsson) can take revenge after the bad Olympics! ;)

I watch the winter sport disciplines, of course that my biggest favourite is our best alpine skier Ivica Kostelić, who already reached the 3 rd place in slalom in Levi, Finland, and a very good 11 th place in downhill (Lake Louis) and currently he helds the 7 th position in world rank. This season could be really interesting, I am looking forward to see what will happen! Good luck to all representatives!:):lol:

I'm happy with this result  Hope our women will be as successful this evening

But before we have the final of the Four Hills Tournament  Will be interesting to watch, as it will be a very close race for the places on the podium.
Atm, the Top 5 is the following:

1. :at: Thomas Morgenstern 681,7 points
2. :ch: Simon Ammann 654,4 points
3. :pl: Adam Małysz 638,8 points
4. :fi: Matti Hautamäki 638,4 points
5. :at: Manuel Fettner 623,1 points

The best German is 9th atm, so no chance for a German overall victory :( Cheering for Ammann and Małysz today (sorry Ronny )

Being Norwegian, I guess I have to like winter sports. :p However, I'm not really a fan of the Nordic events, like cross country, ski jumping and Nordic Combined. I kinda like biathlon, but I prefer sports with a bit more speed. Like alpine skiing, skeleton, skicross and snowboardcross.

Alpine skiing have wide coverage here, NRK (male events only), SVT (both male and female) and Eurosport (both) all cover it.
Skeleton used to be on Eurosport, but not anymore. They got luge tho, but I'm not that much of a fan of that.
Skicross is getting a bit of coverage this season, as both NRK and Eurosport cover some events, but I'm missing out on some of it.
Snowboardcross (SBX) doesn't get any coverage tho, I haven't even been able to find streams online for it. :( NRK sends a bit of halfpipe and slopestyle, but that's not really my thing.

Maria Riesch won the Slalom in Flachau together with Tanja Poutiainen from Finland and is leading in the ranking of the World Cup. I´m very happy about it.
