language isolate spin-off: send songs in a language isolate. (But since this is probably very difficult, more or less unique languages like Japanese, Albanian or Hungarian should be allowed, too. Just no languages with obvious relatives, like Germanic languages, Russian languages, Romanian languages or Turkish)

island spin-off: only songs from islands are allowed

City Spin-Off: Songs with city names in the title (the word "city" or "town" is not allowed)

Karaoke spin-off Record yourself singing your entry (with or without background music).

Trashy Spin Off: Cheap, trashy and tween music only.

Ethnic Spin Off: Ethnic/folk music only.

Inspirational spin off - songs that sing about higher goal (for example songs to support ones who fight against illnesses, cancers, songs that send message of peace, songs that fight against different ways of discrimination, band aid songs and other "inspiration" motives)

Multilingual spin off - songs that are sang at least in two different languages

There's a Norfolk and Suffolk in Virginia and it's really weird.. they border each other too.

From what I understand, it's ethnic/folk so I think folk music is acceptable as well. But the theme suggester should probably clarify.

And if we're talking about folk music in Germany everybody here is thinking about something like this

Ethnic/folk music is cultural music that is to a certain country/region, like songs that use the Armenian duduk or a Finnish violin.

Samo shampioni is a good example of Bulgarian ethnic music - it has the sound of Bulgaria: gaida bagpipes.

This was Carrie's suggestion:

Ethnic Spin Off: Ethnic/folk music only.

Since we had Ethnic & folk theme already in spin-off #7, I think we should have this as returning theme and songs from that edition can't be entered.

or you mean it different?
