#01 UEFA EURO 2016 Spin-Off: Taking over the 24 participating nations, searching songs for them and let them face each other in the original drawed group stage, then continueing with the K.O.-stage until the final to find out the winner.
#02 Genre Randomizer: no special requirements were posted by the suggestioners; if you have extra questions ask @nekoisneko
#03 Artist Randomizer: Everyone suggests an artist, the artists then get assigned to random players. Features are allowed as long as the artist is the main artist.

My own oppinion is first come, first served, even though it's not fully fair. But as the spin-off will last a while with all the voting periods, even if they're shorter than usual, I think two "confirmation periods" are quite needless. Also I think it's better to let the interested deciding, since I think not everybody might be satisfied with nations like Albania or Switzerland and loses the motivation to send in a song. Usually that's not a problem, but in this certain spin-off it's necessary to start with the possible maximum of entries. Maybe if the hosts may announce a date to start the confirmation period, people can make sure to be first ones to decide.

But this is only my oppinion. If the majority thinks it should be fair for everyone, then you should go for that I will just hope to get France then

I can see your logic that randomising makes things harder, but I hate the idea of having first come first served as we risk not having the "less popular" countries being taken and waiting ages for people to fill the gaps. We'll see, but rest assured that you'll be part of the decision making process!

Just not sure if there won't be any member in the entire forum (we should consider promoting it in the spin-off) to find an entry for countries like Northern Ireland, Albania, Wales or the Czech Republic (at least these are countries where I rarely know artists from, even though if I could go with three of the countries).

Well, in the end it should be the majority to decide, just a compromise, if we go for the randomizer, could be that we add a list of countries we (don't) want to have along with our application

But who is gonna put Northern Ireland etc on their list? xd I definitely prefer randomizing.

Also another question: How is the group stage gonna work out? Do we play every single match with a new song (-> 102 songs in total) or play the group stage as one round with one song (and then ranking the four songs of the group -> 54 songs in total)?

randomizing the countries would be best imo, as Flo says, who's going to pick Northern Ireland? Certainly better than choosing five and then hoping you and rev are kind enough to give us number 1. I imagine most will be jumping for countries like England, Germany and Sweden, which would make it difficult to assign countries and leave many disappointed. At least randomizing means people got their country based on luck.

Okay. I see that randomizing is the appreciated way And in the end I think it doesn't matter which way we would go, people could find songs for the "hard" countries anyway. I also thought the edition would last too long if we have two confirmation periods, but it seems that's not concerning

The first voting period should last a bit longer then, but at the point we've reached the K.O. stage everybody knows the songs and we can move on faster. Regarding your question that also means the group stage voting is just one period.

I think randomising seems to be the preferred option, so probably will go with that! I also agree with [MENTION=12837]JamieBrown[/MENTION] that we should have one song that would have to win the whole competition. Probably would do multiple groups at once as well, just to help speed things up (two halves-three groups in each half mayhap?)

Is Northern Ireland really that pathetic when it comes to music? As we all know Ireland has quite some nice artists and so I guess there will be some gifted artists also in their northern neighbour country. I can't think of an Northern Ireland band/singer but it would be fun to look for one. What doesn't mean I'd like to take them. You can easily guess what country I would prefer.
Actually I think there are users for every country. I can see some people who might be interested in taking over Albania, Hungary, Wales and so on. Then again, we can't be sure... so possibly there is no other possibility than randomizing it
