What's your thoughts about semi-final 2? Here's mine:

:at: - The hosts continued to look and act uncomfortable, scared and a little bored. The script and the humor is still dry like a desert. Conchita kept shining, she could pull of jokes without it seeming forced and she seemed really comfortable and professional, had I been the producer she would've been the only host like in 2013 because she is great. I liked that they announced the finalists a bit slower this time but it would've been even more exciting if they would've slowed it down further. Let the excitement speak

:il: - Thank god Israel woke up people after what seemed like 7 ballads in a row. I think Nadav had the best starting position in Eurovision history, never have it been so effective to have an up-tempo song after so many slow and mid-tempo songs.

:se: - Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have those camera angles from upwards? Also he needs more practise

 - So what is the fuss about this song? Not that good, but not bad. Overrated

I think Conchita sucks as a host...she lacks of spontainety and is full of herself. She's forgot that the stars are the contestants not her. Uber boring coverage of the Green Room.
Arabella is the only host I can stand, I like her elegance and charisma, although she still looks a bit robotic. I don't need silly jokes or fake queens like Petra Mede xpuke i don't get why people are missing her. IMO the best hosts in the last ten years have been Jaana Pelkonen, Mikko Leppilampi (2007) and Nadia Hasnaoui (2010)

I agree, Arabella is the only person needed here. The other two are just window dressings, they look awkward, they don't have any proper role, they don't match each other at all, there is no harmony whatsoever and that's sad (hair, outfits, postures, etc.).

As for Conchita, I think she's doing a decent job interviewing people, to me it's much less fake than in 2013 and less annoying than in 2014. However, I do have the feeling she's behaving like the star of the night while only the current contestants should be in the spotlight.

So kudos to Arabella for leading the whole thing, she's very professional and doesn't act like a zombie reading a teleprompter, I like her xclap

As I predicted, I enjoyed semi 2 a lot more than the first one. Everything was a lot more natural and it went in a better pace. The hosts are okay. I'll probably love them by the final, just like last year. :D Although I kind of somewhy don't like the lighting they have? Lmao. It's sort of red-ish yellow and more dim, yet not cozy. But last year everything was all well lit and shiny and bright and I kind of remember that more and loved it. I don't know. :D

So many bad decisions. I'm still sad because of :cz:,:mt:,:ch: and :ie: not making it to the final meanwhile :lt:, :cy:, :sl: and :pl: did. This SF was so boring except the Israeli golden boy  The hosts were boring as usual but their outfits were a little bit better.

Somewhere doing something
I don't think I even care about the rest, I'm just so relieved Israel made it through, haha. I was unable to watch the results live (but got my mom to vote Israel for me) and she knew the results, on the way home shje made a comment that basically made me think "oh god, Israel haven't made it through" because she's not the type to effectively try to knock me off guard. So I sit through the 2 hours of semi final, see the last few remaining, I was certain Malta would make it through, and thought "yep, she's right, Israel's not in. I should have just looked up the results before watching the show" but OHHH YEAHHH BABY. Israel was the last one called, thank goodness! My golden boy pulled through :)

I didn't actually care for most of the acts, I wanted Czech Republic, Malta and Switzerland through though. I also thought that lots of people hated Cyprus's and I found it horribly boring myself, I was certain it wouldn't make it through but somehow it did o.o Really surprised. Also I thought Poland's was dull too and am sad it made it through, but well done Latvia for finally qualifying after god knows how long!

I agree, the lighting is the one thing that annoys me greatly. I don't even have an opinion about the hosts, cause our commentator talks over everything, but they couldn't possibly bother me as much as the lighting does. Bright, yet dark. Strange tones. So much glare!

Is this supposed to be acceptable http://i.imgur.com/QruxkuO.jpg :?
I know it's just stills, but this lasts for seconds and it looks like crap.

I think it was even worse than Semi 1. Still a lot to improve.

Terrible. The hosts are some of the worst I've seen on a show. Out of time, dry humour, can't connect with them and seem to have little emotion towards the ESC. Conchita is simply poor too. Some of the questions she's asked the artists are just weird. The Irish girl was totally put on the spot with a dumbass question. The sound is poor, camera angles poor. Not enjoyed it greatly so far.

I thought at first there was a problem with the camera. I seriously have no idea how can they consider it as being good, his performance at the NF looked so much better.

As for the hosts, I can't understand why they put 3, for me even 2 seems sometimes a bit too much, giving the fact that they also have Conchita in the green room. Speaking of Conchita, I've always had a weakness for her, but this is just...just no, I think she should stick to singing.

Everything looks cheap, I don't like the colors and I feel like they made this in a hurry. The place looks so small (or maybe it's just their terrible way of filming?), their interval acts with Austria and whatever Austria has and did are boring and I just get this feeling that they only want to end everything as fast as they can so everyone can go to sleep.

I miss Lise, Nikolaj and Pilou even though it's been over a year already. I loved their humor

Here is my opinion about the winners!

:lt: I'm ok with their qualification. I'm not a fna of 'This Time', but the performance was nice, everything was right. It probably made DaFlo elated, so xheart

:me: I wanted Montenegro to qualify, so I am really happy they're still in the game! Beautiful language and a good performance. Won't be a winner though.

 Meh. I've never liked this song, it's dull and it's nothing new. I loved their previous entry and 'A Monster Like Me' is a big dissapointment for me.

:il: The hot hit from Israel is in the final! I am very, very, very glad about that!!!

:lv: Right before the semi I scared it may fail, because it's a little bit too alternative for Eurovsion. The song is great, but I don't see a winner in Aminata, but I hope I am wrong. I would be very happy with their vicotry.

:az: Elnur was flawless life, just perfect. I loved everything about his performace. It's another song I wish it wins. Carrie must be under the moon!

:se: I liked this song more at the beginning, but if Mans won, I'd be ok with that. He may be not my favourite winner this year, but it would be something I would be happy with.

:cy: For me it's one of the worst songs of the year. It's boring, outdated, the staging is just as boring. Cyprus had the amazing Eva Dive in the preselections, they also had Minus One, but that had to go with that. Well, Cyprus doesn't want to win.

:sl: Nice performance, but I wish they added something more wow. I was happy they qualified, but then they got the first spot in the final which ruined their chances. I feel very sorry for them

And now, Ladies and Gelteman (and AshleyWright and RainyWoods too!)
:pl: xheart I am so proud of Monika! She deserved the final xheart The staging was great, I love her dress, it's covers the wheelchar but you can still see the chair. It's hard for me to express my feelings about her song ans performance, because she represents my country and I have a strong connection with the song. I know I'm writting shit right now, but I hope I'll be forgiven. Monika has already won for me xheart

I agree with you with the camera work this year, in both semi's they were some times when they were off, or out of focus. As for the hosts, they're OK. Good, but still stiff and uncomfortable. As for Conchita, she's actually doing a pretty good job in the Green Room because we've had much worse Green Room hosts. The Interval segments were a little annoying but I can just ignore them by doing something else...like using the bathroom.

In terms of the place looking small, it the fact that the Wiener Stadthalle has a much MUCH lower ceiling height than the B&W Hallerne and it slopes downward from the sides to the center so the stage couldn't be that tall. The tubes on the top could have been removed to give the illusion of height but you can't do much more than that unfortunately :/ I was surprised the sound was much better than I expected because I heard the venue had bad acoustics.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact they rushed through the announcement of the qualifying countries. They could have rolled the qualifying countries like end credits to produce the same effect. Totally killed the tension.

I'm actually interested on what the final scores are for this semi-final. If it spread was very narrow between the bottom 7 in this semi (or if there was a tie) then it would explain a bit.
