The thoughts of sneakers squeaking and balls sailing through the nets were on the minds of all Thursday as the draws for the 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season and Qualifying Rounds and the Eurocup Qualifying Round took place in Barcelona, Spain.

The Qualifying Rounds will take place from September 29 through October 2 with 16 teams battling for two last tickets to the Regular Season at separate eight-team tournaments.

The Regular Season is set to tip-off with the Greens hosting the traditional Opening Game at the Athens Indoor Olympic Hall on Monday, October 17 and then will continue with games played every Wednesday and Thursday for 10 consecutive weeks through December 22. The competition returns with the Top 16 from January 18 to March 1, with a one-week break between the fourth and fifth games. The quarterfinal playoffs are scheduled from March 21 to April 5, the winners of which will meet at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four from May 11 to 13 in Istanbul, Turkey.

What a group for Partizan OMG (group of dead)

And I really can't understand why France have 3 teams in qualification??? Their club basket sucks

I am hoping, that Brose Baskets Bamberg (quite near from my homecity) will reach the next round, but I don´t expect this.

Partizan really didn't have any luck this year. Maccabi (again), Real, Efes, Armani......I simply don't know which team is better than which  It will be extremely hard to pass the group. I even see a 5/5 score for each team, and then the baskets would make the difference.

The Draw for Women's Basketball elite club competition, the 2011/12 EuroLeague Women season, was concluded today in Munich, Germany.

This year's line-up features three newcomers- CCC Polkowice from Poland, French team BLMA Montpellie and Seat Szese GYÖR from Hungary - and a new competition format with three Regular Season groups and a Final Eight replacing the Final Four.

The Regular Season will tip off on 12th October and will conclude on 1st February.

A best-of-three Eighth-Final playoffs series in February will then decide the Final Eight participants.
The Final Eight will take place in a pre-determined venue, between 28th March -1st April 2012.

The host venue will come from one of the EuroLeague Women participants and it will be chosen after a bidding process, in October this year.

group c in euroleague men is very interesting for two reasons.........firtsly to see which teams are not going to qualify and secondly to see in which position is every team going to qualify because that counts in the TOP 16 DRAW................but i support PANATHINAIKOS and i really trust OBRADOVIC..................in euroleague women i support fenerbahce,i really like this team

Congratulations to Galatasaray for entering the Euroleague :D

Galatasaray should've been in a group with us (Partizan), but as we already have one :tr: team here (Andalou Efes), Spirou Basket from :be: will be our rival.

Good luck to Galatasaray in the championship, I liked the style of their play :D

I will root for Panathinaikos (after my own team, Partizan of course :D) as well, and I think you have good chances to defend the European title :D The biggest contenders for the trophy are, imo, : Panathinaikos, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
