Oslo, Norway - Three hosts are chosen to lead Europe's favourite TV show from the Telenor Arena in Oslo in May: Nadia Hasnaoui will present the voting and scoreboard, and make sure spokespersons from all over Europe can cast their votes in a timely manner. Erik Solbakken and Haddy N'jie will open the show, and cheer with the artists. They will welcome some 125 million television viewers from across Europe and around the world on the 25th, 27th and 29th of May.

"We have been through an extensive process, and in the end we think we've found the absolutely best hosts for this job," says NRK's Executive Producer Jon Ola Sand. "These three represent an unique combination of talent and experience, and we are certain they will lead these shows in an excellent way. We are proud of being able to recruit such talent from within NRK," he adds.

The hosts have known about the secret for some time already. "It has been a little unreal, and I had to spend some time letting it sink in when they asked," says Nadia Hasnaoui. She will be responsible for the whole voting segment during all three shows in May: "During the voting, it is important everything is transparent and fair for all, and at the same time it might get extremely exciting in the end. I'm proud and humbled over being given this opportunity," says Hasnaoui.

Erik Solbakken and Haddy N'jie will host the show, which means they will both introduce the artists and stay with them in the green room during the voting. "We will be hosting great artists from 39 countries, and what I'm looking forward to the most is to meet them and see their acts. At the same time, I have to say it will be a special moment to be allowed to say 'Good evening, Europe!' on Saturday 29 May," Erik says. Haddy N'jie agrees: "We will host five shows in May, with up to 18,000 people in the audience each time. It will certainly be a busy period for us, but it is hard to imagine a more exciting job. Yes, we have nerves but feel confident because we have a large team of professionals in both NRK and EBU around us," Haddy says

I expected better hosts tbh, but we'll see what kind of job they'll do in May :)

From the intro video, they seem like very enthusiastic people, which seems like it can be a good thing (if handled correctly).

My problem with the hosts a lot of the times is that they try and make cheesy jokes that really aren't that funny (but it's not their fault... it's the fault of the writers.) Remember Andrey Malahov last year for the SFs?? He made me want to pull my hair out!!!

Well I really don't understand some of the comments I'm reading. I really doubt anyone knows who these people are so I don't get why there is disappointment? Have you seen these people host a program before to give such opinions?

From what I read, NRK looked for the best presenters, not the most attractive or the most famous. As we've seen over the years, the most famous and attractive hosts can barely speak properly or hold any viewer interest whatsoever. I'd rather have someone who can properly speak French and enunciate English properly instead of a certain Russian model who only knew how to stand on stage and look pretty.

Hopefully these three hosts will present the program professionally, but praise or disappointment should come after they have hosted the shows.

^ actually I don't think that they can speak English properly, if they couldn't do it for an ordinary video for the I-net I'm wondering about their English during the show :|

Don't worry, I'll give my opinion about them after the show cuz we haven't seen the show yet :) BUT now I'm (and not only me) giving my impression about them in general and unfortunately it's more negative than positive.

I seem to be the only one that thinks that it is pretty good hosts. :p

These guys seems pretty young and fresh, but still feels pretty good in hosting.
But still..it hasn't been many good hosts in ESC in a long time (I think the finns was the best of the recent ones IMO), so maybe it's hard to host such a big contest like ESC is! :)

@Schlager

I think they will be good hosts too, as long as the broadcaster doesn't make them say goofy jokes that most of the world doesn't understand. Their English sounds good, and thank GOD that woman's French sounds decent.

I don't know how anyone can judge hosts based on a short clip like that, but okay, to each their own.

I can't believe how close ESC is! :)

Broadcaster doesn't make them say goofy jokes, EBU people do that. Unless it's not improvisation during the votes announcement.
lol, you are surprised that people judge them based on a short clip but you've just judged them in the same way

Anyway, I thought there will be 4 hosts - 2 for the semis and 2 for the final.

Maybe it'll be like Jersusalem 1999?
nope, there will be 2 hosts for the main event, according to official site: Nadia Hasnaoui will present the voting and the scoreboard, and make sure the spokespersons from all over Europe can cast their votes in a timely manner. Erik Solbakken and Haddy N'jie will open the show, and cheer with the artists.
so I guess that we will see them in both semis and in the final.

+1000

I couldn't agree more. I honestly couldn't care less if the hosts aren't supermodels as long as they manage to guide the ESC-viewers through the show properly. I'm sure NRK has done their best to find hosts who are qualified for the job, so that certain people are being judgemental already is very disrespectful and disgraceful to the hostcountry imo.

^ Gosh, everybody's judged. They can't appeal to everyone ;)
Also according to this logic it's also disrespectful to hosts in the past (and we've already got a lot of crap about models that don't know what to do, goofy jokes blah blah blah)... so let us judge them based on their current work.
NRK didn't get indulgence so they can be and they will be criticized.

It's more than 2 months until ESC - they have time to prepare properly so OF COURSE it will be different thing.

Of course hosts should be judged and criticized but I find a little too early at this point, considering that no one (maybe except for Norwegians) have seen them in action yet. ;)
