First of all, Me Gustas Tú xcryxcryxcry

Wow, Sonia y Selena failed to qualify. Shocker to me, tbh.

What a horrible performance from Lachispa xpuke Hartita de Llorar was my fave before the show, but apparently not anymore 👎

Lastly, I’m very happy for Kuve and Daniela Blasco xheart

PS. Surprisingly I liked Lucas Bun’s performance as well??? How did that happen 😅

After seeing her videos on tiktok before on how she dances, i expected Daniela Blasco to gag absolutely everyone with her performance the same way Chanel did. But it doesn't seem that it's the case. She had really good reactions but not as much as Chanel and odds for Spain didn't skyrocketed the way they did with Chanel too. I'm absolutely gobsmacked by that idea. What's the problem here ? She didn't even went viral ... why ? The choreo was absolutely slick and should have impressed people enough to be gagged, same for the package overall which had really good and precise camerawork.
I don't see a point of comparing Channel, who from first ten seconds established herself in my eyes as a talented musical artist who will slay on ESC with that "Slo mo? Oh that makes sense, smart!" kind of performance...
To the Beyonce and Serhat child. She tried to make an impression with beyonce way of walking and background music meant to give you B vibes, then went fully Serhat with vocals, nana nana na na na na eeeeeee na na, and the choreo just screamed "wanna be Channel but I'm not". Even those close ups on face looked funny as hell, cause she couldn't sell shit. Not to mention half of the song is just uh na na, not sure if she couldn't think of more lyrics or that would be too hard to remember on stage. :ROFLMAO:

If you guys pick her, she has long way to go to make any sort of impression in May. Especially, when you were the ones who selected Channel few years back.

Guys, you better go watch the first semifinal of Chanel in Benifest. She danced 50% less than in Turin and she was waaaay more suffocated than Daniela yesterday. She sings better, that's right, but that's a normal thing as she was used to perform in musicals everyday in Madrid. Annnnd we didn't vote her, in fact she was elected by the jury. She ranked 5th or so in public voting ahaha

I think she did an incredible job yesterday. The sound was weird for everyone (except for Kingdom, she let slip many false notes throughout the performance). Let's be realistic, both 'Slomo' and 'Uh nana' are shitty songs, but a REAL, GOOD song doesn't win Eurovision since 2019. Daniela can master her show, improve her vocals as much as possible and reach top 10-11 for Spain in Basel.

I read someone saying that Lachispa said "Viva Andalucía" or sth like that in order to win votes. She can shout what she wants, there are at least 4 ppl coming from Andalucia lol If someone will be backed by Andalucia (more precisely, Seville) is Melody, as she is originally from a city that feels like a little village called Dos Hermanas.

Fun fact - 'La Macarena''s singers are from Dos Hermanas as well.

I took a look to the semifinal videos on RTVE Música channel on youtube and Lachispa has an overwhelming amount of negative comments on her video, I really doubt that she will get support from the televote on saturday and Alsou4ever mentions that she isn't the only singer from Andaluzia, so she won't get regional support like I thought she could get.

On the other hand Daniela Blasco has a lot of positive comments and the most views of all of yesterday's videos, 120k to Lachispa in second place with 80k.

I have a feeling the winner is coming from semi 2. None of these were great.

Chanel sang all the time whilst doing her choreo and was flawless

Daniela sang a little but mostly just let the backing track do it for her (to me at least this was easy to spot). What I could hear of her voice wasn't great though not as bad as all but two of the other artists in the semi.

Daniela's song is more dated than Chanel's and it's been 3 years since Chanel won, so it's incredibly dated, and just worse.

And Chanel just had that star charisma that Daniela didn't have. Daniela is just a dancer and that's it, nobody cares about her song, her vocals, her charisma or even the staging. It's just dance that "saves" her from being completely bad or mediocre.

I also doubt the jury put her above La Chispa or Lucas Bun, I can even imagine Kuve being above her. She'll be max. 4th with the jury I think.

I'll just say I'm salty with Lachispa's performance. I know she can nail those vocals (let's not forget RTVE's sound is crap), but there is a huge waste of potential in terms of staging. Come on, you have a song with some electronic beats in between the verses and you don't even think to play with the illumination to make it more impactful?????????? How come???????

Btw, after watching the performances I knew those four would qualify. Still hoping to get a decent sound in Benidorm Fest for once after 4 editions!!!!

I dont know about the jury not putting her above lachipsa, what little Daniela sang, she did sing better though the difficulty was also a lot smaller.

So, I tried to count the amount of times Kuve (or some backing singer on the backing track) said Por Ti (accompagnied by Estoy Loca or not)

47 TIMES

AND I'M SURE I MISSED A FEW

Now I really don't mind a repetitive chorus (Hope was my fave in 2022) but you gotta be shitting me

ll be honest: the level of this semifinal was far from good, and none of these entries were strong enough for Eurovision. The only one I liked was Kuve, whose vocals and performance were good but not amazing. Daniela wasn’t bad, but she wasn’t excellent either. LaChispa… well.. I never liked her song, and last night she was out of tune the entire time, so I definitely do not want her going to ESC. My hopes are on J Kbello tonight in semi 2, but hey, if someone surprises me like Chanel did in 2022 or Blanca Paloma in 2023 without being on my radar beforehand, I’ll take it.

I'm late to the party (which is rude as Spain were my number 1 last year) but I've finally caught up with the performances.

Kuve - LOCA XTI = 9/10
Lachispa - Hartita de llorar = 6.5/10
Daniela Blasco - Uh nana = 6.5/10
Lucas Bun - Te escribo en el Cielo = 5/10

Sonia y Selena - Reinas = 10/10 (fabulous mature lady disco, my beloved xheart
1080227120548163624.webp
)
David Afonso - Amor barato 8.5/10
K!NGDOM - Me gustas tú = 7/10 (thought this would have advanced on the staging alone)
Chica Sobresalto - Mala feminista = 6/10

I'm happy Kuve went through. Usually I'm less into more ravey kind of dance tracks but LOCA XTI really lands well for me. It's catchy, super epic, great vocals and Kuve looks gorgeous. I really love that dress she's wearing too :coffee: This entry has got it going on and so far would be my pick. It really soars.

Hartita de llorar is an interesting song. It has a strong performance too, minus the vocals.. and I think that's just too much of a biggie on such a song. The shouting was so painfully off at times. Uh Nana is quite alright and performed with a nice amount of spunk. I like the reggaeton elements the most but overall it's a bit of a confusing blend of different sounds. After the first listen I remembered nothing from it despite quite enjoying the song in the moment. Te escribo en el Cielo is a pleasant enough piece of music but there's something about Lucas' vocals that made me feel on edge the entire time. He sounded so nervous, more or less the whole way through it. I would have swapped this song for Reinas or Amor barato, or perhaps even Me gustas tú if I was being more objective seeing as K!NGDOM quite easily had the best staging and performance. I'm surprised they didn't make the top 4 in either vote.

Finally, I managed to comment a bit on the first semi-final.

Lachispa – Someone posted the press ranking beforehand, and seeing it in 5th place immediately lowered my expectations (I even feared for its qualification), so I was mentally prepared for the disaster that it turned out to be…
I liked the staging, and the performance was amazing; everything was good except for the vocals, which were an absolute disaster.

The problem is that, even with this disaster, it was still my favourite (due to how poorly the others performed or because of the songs themselves).

Lucas Bun was the most consistent, but it doesn’t connect with me. Interestingly, it’s a bit like what happened with St. Pedro last year: these are songs that, if you know me, you know they have a lot of potential for me, but they simply didn’t work. I just can’t feel anything beyond indifference, even though, vocally, I acknowledge it was the most balanced.

Kuve was okay, but I felt something was missing in the overall concept.

Daniela Blasco – you could discuss something like this in a dance competition, not a music one. This is a cheap and boring copy ( Chanel. This would go to my season bottom (and I don’t even need to listen to all the songs to be sure).

Melody is my guilty pleasure of the season (so far). If she’s solid, I might shift my support to her.

DeTeresa, you could get my support, provided the staging is good as well.

But for now, it’s hard to say, but my support is still going to Lachispa. It was one of the best songs of the season, and I hope they fix all the mistakes… although I have some fear and scepticism that this will actually happen.

I will most likely switch to teamMolody later tonight, which will be a huge surprise.

You bring taste once again Kai - you and I can sit after this NF season and stream Ladybug from Norway and Sonia y Selena, dreaming of what could've been... xlove

Can't believe Melody isn't storming that press poll. Was more convinced than ever after Semi 1 results that she had this in the bag, but maybe this J Kbello bloke might ruin the plans...

It's understandable that the odds have changed considerably concerning "Hartita de llorar". It's a demanding song to sing, and she can't. Maybe she'll pull it off 1 out of 10 times, but if she is just a little bit nervous or has to focus on the choreography, she'll go wrong. Her live performance was almost just as painful to listen to as "Monster" from Belgium. You've got to ask: Why go to a song contest with a song that the singer isn't able to sing? Is it because the music industry has gotten used to autotune and pitch correction fixing the vocals?

Anyway, the song in itself is interesting, and there are still parts of it that can be enjoyed live.

Haven't found any other Benidorm entries that I really liked.
