I think everybody knows songs of Eurovision that make you smile, that make your day.
What is the song where you still laugh about?
Which song makes you remember of great funny stories?
What is the most awful song you know, but so awful that it actually is a great one?
Which song can turn a bad day into a great one?

I will start:
This song from Macedonia in 2000 is still one of my favourite 'laugh songs': so awful bad that it is just a masterpiece... I still remember sitting on the couch next to my mother and being completely shocked; WHAT IS THIS?!

Norway, 1986. Ketil Stokkan almost caused an international scandal bringing dragqueens to Eurovision for the first time (the background dancers are members of The Great Garlic Girls). The song is crap, but the funny thing is that I can't go to parentsmeetings at my oldest daughters school without picturing Ketil doing this silly dance... It's a challenge to not giggle around him, plus I feel constantly starstruck our "kids" beeing friends and all

Greece 1988... or whenever that was... 'Clown'. So bad it's good! I remember watching the contest on DVD and I was like... is this the same Greece that sent Helena, Anna and so on later on??

How could I have blanked that from my memory!?

For some reason, Poland's 2003 entry my Ich Troje brings an abundance of happiness.

I liked the 'rapping' guy.

Oh yeah, Laka was great! A perfect example of how to do a comic entry without being too idiotic!

Oh boy. Macedonia. I was a little kid. I had a crush on these girls. The way they sang to you in that foreign language and weird clothes were just too much for a little boy like me. I was really sad when they failed to pick votes and almost scored last in the hole competition. To me, this was the winner.

Time floating by. When I rewatch it, 13 years later for the first time there are soo much nostalgia, sooo much feelings, sooooo much regrets and way too much hope. This is part of my childhood! Of course the song is cringeworthy by todays standards, as my taste in music has radically changed, It still makes me cheerfull and almost.. only almost wished it had won. These girls really could sing! Or wait.. could they? Well, no. But anyways!

Haha, 2010: the Netherlands. What a shame... Maybe funny for foreigners, but awkward for all the Dutch watching television that night...

Indeed... I remember Stefan Raab making a lot of fun of it in his TV-Show so also some of my friends not really connected to ESC knew (and still know) it.

So, it's a funny song for many people!

Moldova 2005: Zdob și Zdub...

xrofl2

These guys are truly creative. So I would say anything with Zdob și Zdub. Something crazy is added, but it's still not ridiculous nor derisive. So Lucky is such a colourful spectacle!

Why the unicycle?!
