Here are the Eurovision 2018 results according to the voting system in place until 1997:
100% jury panel of countries in the final

JURY
1 Austria 195
----------above 50% of points

3 Israel 132
4 Germany 132
5 Cyprus 106
---------above 25% of points
6 Estonia 71
7 France 68
8 Albania 67
9 Bulgaria 66
10 Australia 66
11 Lithuania 54
12 Ireland 53
13 Netherlands 47
14 Norway 44
15 Czechia 39
16 Italy 35
17 Spain 32
18 Slovenia 31
-------above 10% of points
19 Denmark 28
20 Moldova 25
21 Finland 18
22 Portugal 18
23 UK 17
24 Hungary 11
25 Ukraine 5
26 Serbia 3

Here are the results according to 100% televote by the countries in the final:

TELEVOTE
1 Israel 182
---------above 50% of points
2 Czechia 142
3 Italy 141
4 Cyprus 139
5 Denmark 127
6 Germany 99
-------above 25% of points
7 Moldova 72
8 Lithuania 67
9 Estonia 65
10 Ukraine 60
11 Norway 56
12 Ireland 52
13 Austria 49
14 Hungary 37
15 Bulgaria 36
-------above 10% of points
16 France 29
17 Serbia 29
18 UK 23
19 Finland 20
20 Netherlands 18
21 Spain 17
22 Albania 15
23 Sweden 14
24 Slovenia 8
24 Portugal 8
26 Australia 3

Here is the combination of both according to the current system:

Combined
1 Israel 314
---------above 50% of points
2 Cyprus 245
3 Austria 244
4 Germany 231
5 Czechia 181
6 Italy 176
7 Sweden 159
8 Denmark 155
-------above 25% of points
9 Estonia 136
10 Lithuania 121
11 Ireland 105
12 Bulgaria 102
13 Norway 100
14 France 97
15 Moldova 97
16 Albania 82
17 Australia 69
18 Netherlands 65
19 Ukraine 65
--------above 10% of points
20 Spain 49
21 Hungary 48
22 UK 40
23 Slovenia 39
24 Finland 38
25 Serbia 32
26 Portugal 26

Takeaways: If only countries that advanced to the final could vote, it would not have changed a lot, however, those countries deliver a higher TV share of Eurovision and thus their televotes are more significant than. Also, diaspora and friendly votes get reduced by a lot, since entire blocks were not in the final. So, Moldova and Serbia lost many votes, but that actually looks quite for to me, given that Serbia was the second most country ranked last overall and still got 75 points from its hood, that was mostly not in the final.

And I also like that Czechia got a better result with this system. Top 5 looks better with Czechia than Italy in my opinion.

Speaking of pre-2004, is it possible to get results from back-up juries from let's say 2003, 2004, 2005 etc?

I read somewhere that Lisa Andreas won the Juryvoting 2004 and that Helena only came 4th 2005. I fear Malta would have won 2005 with Juries.

The Netherlands 2000 used the votes of the back-up jury because the contest was not broadcast due to the "fireworks desaster".

Not only Top 5 looking good, love the Top 10 and the spreading of the points in the combination.

I wouldnt let only the Finalist vote. Imagine Lithuania and Kroatia are the Big Favourites to win and Ireland, Norway, Estonia and Latvia reach the Final while Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Macedonia dont.

The Irish vote of 2003 was a jury vote. Which is quite sad, because Austria won the televote and would have leaped into the lead then, but well.

Yes, in 2003 Ireland, Bosnia and Russia had juries only, but I wonder if other countries back then had back-up juries beside their televoting.

In the Swedish program Inför ESC 2008, Christer Björkman (host) said that Germany came 6th in the jury in 2007. This is the only time I've heard of a jury in the televoting years. Does anyone have a more complete picture? Was that only him spilling the beans on that one?

As far as I know, every country HAS to have a backup jury. So they do exist somewhere... but where?! Ask Jon Ola! :-)

Even if they should still be available, why would EBU release those numbers? Because EBU don´t do something if they don´t have anything to gather from it, the only way to find out would be if someone managed to get into the database for ESC on EBU.

If anyone could manage to find the valid split results full markdown from 2013, I would be thrilled

I just noticed something interesting.

In 1997, when the first televote was introduced, only Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom voted by telephone.
All of the other participating countries used a jury.

When I looked at the final scoreboard I realized that in the top points category (12, 10...) the telephone vote wasn't that different from the jury vote. So, obviously televoters in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom went along with the juries' decisions in all the other countries.

BUT it is also obvious to see that some of the low ranked countries got only points from their neighbour countries OR the countries participating in the televote! Which means, when it came to the not so popular songs, the televote was quite different from all the jury votes!

Iceland would have done much better in 1997 if the televote was used.

What was the composition of the juries back than? Only people of the music industry or demographically picked, regular people too?

all I know is that France would have given the UK 1 point if they used the juries in 2003
