Takeaways: If only countries that advanced to the final could vote, it would not have changed a lot, however, those countries deliver a higher TV share of Eurovision and thus their televotes are more significant than. Also, diaspora and friendly votes get reduced by a lot, since entire blocks were not in the final. So, Moldova and Serbia lost many votes, but that actually looks quite for to me, given that Serbia was the second most country ranked last overall and still got 75 points from its hood, that was mostly not in the final.

And I also like that Czechia got a better result with this system. Top 5 looks better with Czechia than Italy in my opinion.

I read somewhere that Lisa Andreas won the Juryvoting 2004 and that Helena only came 4th 2005. I fear Malta would have won 2005 with Juries.

The Netherlands 2000 used the votes of the back-up jury because the contest was not broadcast due to the "fireworks desaster".

Not only Top 5 looking good, love the Top 10 and the spreading of the points in the combination.

I wouldnt let only the Finalist vote. Imagine Lithuania and Kroatia are the Big Favourites to win and Ireland, Norway, Estonia and Latvia reach the Final while Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Macedonia dont.

The Irish vote of 2003 was a jury vote. Which is quite sad, because Austria won the televote and would have leaped into the lead then, but well.

Yes, in 2003 Ireland, Bosnia and Russia had juries only, but I wonder if other countries back then had back-up juries beside their televoting.

In the Swedish program Inför ESC 2008, Christer Björkman (host) said that Germany came 6th in the jury in 2007. This is the only time I've heard of a jury in the televoting years. Does anyone have a more complete picture? Was that only him spilling the beans on that one?

Yes, in 2003 Ireland, Bosnia and Russia had juries only, but I wonder if other countries back then had back-up juries beside their televoting.

As far as I know, every country HAS to have a backup jury. So they do exist somewhere... but where?! Ask Jon Ola! :-)

Even if they should still be available, why would EBU release those numbers? Because EBU don´t do something if they don´t have anything to gather from it, the only way to find out would be if someone managed to get into the database for ESC on EBU.

All of the other participating countries used a jury.

When I looked at the final scoreboard I realized that in the top points category (12, 10...) the telephone vote wasn't that different from the jury vote. So, obviously televoters in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom went along with the juries' decisions in all the other countries.

BUT it is also obvious to see that some of the low ranked countries got only points from their neighbour countries OR the countries participating in the televote! Which means, when it came to the not so popular songs, the televote was quite different from all the jury votes!

all I know is that France would have given the UK 1 point if they used the juries in 2003
