xcheer I'm going to Hungary on Apr 27/28/29th xcheer xcheer

Main part of my trip is visiting rally race on Hungaroring but of course I also want to see Budapest while I'm there. ;)
I will be staying in one hotel in Budapest. So considering there is not much time - what I shouldn't miss in Budapest?
You know, like, what are must - see attractions. Also, I am a collector of national flags so I am wondering will I get a chance to buy some national flags there - Hungarian one but also others? Where to look for them? Here in Serbia we have just our flags :(

Thanks :)
Where is the hotel you are staying in?

I'm suggesting you to check out Heroes' Square. The Serbian embassy is there too. ;) You can go there using Metro Line 1. That metro line has some stations where you should stop by, like Széchenyi thermal bath or Opera. If you have time I suggest you to get off at Oktogon (also a station) and go to Sugar Shop confectionary. Yummy. So far everyone I showed it loved it. :)

The last station of the line is Vörösmarty square, where Váci street begins. Well, when my friend was in Budapest (also from Serbia :p) he bought flags on Váci street. (There are many shops selling souvenirs there) We also saw some in Vásárcsarnok (which is at the other end of Váci street)

Danube Promenade is parallel with Váci Street. There you can get on Tram Line 2 with which you can go to the Parlament. Chain Bridge is there too. There if you get on Bus Line 16, it will take you to the Buda Castle. In the castle district you can also check out Fishermen's Bastion and Matthias Church. Takasa was there a few weeks ago. :)

If you have other questions feel free to ask. ;)

You're welcome. ;)

Does this link for on Google Maps? Vásárcsarnok, on the upper storey there are souvenir shops, I saw flags there. And if you walk on Váci street there was a shop where you could buy flags but unfortunately I dont remember its name. You had to go down a small stairs to get into the shop itself but it also had a stand in the street with some flags.

And I dont know if you want to go to mall; if you do, the biggest one is WestEnd City Center; you can get there by Metro Line 3.

There were many kinds; he bought medium sized flags with a black stick.
Check it out both on Váci street and in the Market Place.

Oh nice, I would like to buy these too. :) Something like this would be perfect :p :

Any idea about the price? And can I pay with Euros?

Yes they were like those on the left. ;)
If I recall correctly the price was around 5-6€, and I think you can only pay in HUF (at least in most places) but there are exchange offices in Váci Street.

Yes, unfortunately it's quite out of the city, but there are many bus lines on Kerepesi út so its not complicated to get to the downtown but timeconsuming.

The main entrance of the hotel is actually on Kerepesi út, but when I put kerepesi út 87 it puts us behind the building, instead of the main entrance. :?

This link is better maybe:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=1106...u&ved=0CAoQ2wU&sa=X&ei=pIV5UfyNF8j2iAaDhYHoDg You can see that there's a bus station close to the entrance of the hotel
