But EBB can't fix results for them or force jury to vote them. :(

Well, that's only if you believe the juries are all fair and square, while I'm one of those who believe they're here for a reason and to impose an agenda...

But that agenda is hurting ESC and EBU is also interested in keeping countries, so they better re-think their strategy if they don't want even further withdrawals xthink

Firstly supporting local sounding GOOD entries (and not destroy them) would be a first step, especially if these means getting more countries onboard next year.

But it's not fair to tell to jury what to vote for, what is the point? xshrug

I didn't say it's fair, but you think they are voting fair now? Well, each to their own... If they would be voting fair now, I wouldn't even mention it, but then again we wouldn't even have the problems ESC is dealing with in the first place xshrug

All I'm saying is that EBU should have in mind that atleast somewhat success for Montegro (+ Poland and Hungary) will bring back a whole bunch of countries to the contest and imo help its credibility, diversity and the brand itself.

But in these cases it wouldn't be unfair

Had their entries sucked, then sure it would be unfair, but now it would be a win-win to support those...

On the other hand I always argued that juries SHOULD take into consideration entries that actually represent their countries (language, ethnic motives etc.) plus obviously support musical diversity.

Well I think they should judge

1. vocal
2. composition quality - orchestration
3. performance

And all that depending on the genre it is..its quite difficult to compare genres, but they have to find educated musical ppl. :)

Vocals should NEVER be put higher than the songs, NEVER! We have plenty of shows with the sole purpose of judging vocals only, there's no need in turning Eurovision into just another copy of Idol/The Voice/X-Factor, this is a SONG contest with original material and we're looking to find the best songs, not the best vocalists.

Sure, vocals are important, but the songs from an overall perspective should always be #1 judged, otherwise this contest is pointless... and unfortunately the judges share your mindset on this it seems.

Based on the songs of course? xshrug

The quality, composition, musical diversity, originality, relevance in today's music, representative of the countries they represent etc.

If vocals only count then why do we even call it a song contest? Why sending original songs and have a rule for how old songs can be if you can enter a crap useless turd of a song but get good jury grades just based on good vocals? xshrug

How unlucky Montenegro send their best effort in the year where almost all of their neighbours are absent!! It would've been a surefire qualifier and deservedly so! Fingers crossed!!

Well Europe does like a good Balkan ballad and Montenegro is the only one offering it this year so who knows?

I feel it lacks something, but I still like it. It's a very decent song and represents the Balkanic region very well.

As already mentioned in this thread, he'll be performing in Montenegrin.

My super favourite this year, reminds me of home. Well done, very beautiful, I hope it gets the recognition it deserves, Montenegro is a small country, so it might struggle, but I hope juries will do their job on this song. I hope Albania scores you 12 points, as we have always done, and this year it would be well deserved, congratulations for such a good song!
