Today, Great Britain's manager Stuart Pearce announced the line-up for Team GB:

Goalkeepers
Jack Butland (Birmingham City)
Jason Steele (Middlesbrough)

Defenders
Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea)
Steven Caulker (Tottenham Hotspur)
Craig Dawson (West Bromwich Albion)
Micah Richards (Manchester City)
Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)
Neil Taylor (Swansea City)
James Tomkins (West Ham United)

Midfielders
Joe Allen (Swansea City)
Tom Cleverley (Manchester United)
Jack Cork (Southampton)
Ryan Giggs (Manchester United)
Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
Scott Sinclair (Swansea City)

Forwards
Craig Bellamy (Liverpool)
Marvin Sordell (Bolton Wanderers)
Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea)

Apart from a few that I would have liked to have been there like David Beckham, Im pretty happy with this line-up, I think we have a great chance, especially as the host nation. Good luck Team GB! :D :uk:

Definitely Great Britain, Brazil and Spain are the big contenders, I think it is entirely possible that these will be the three medal winners :D!.
Aside from those three I'm looking forward to cheering on New Zealand!

No Scottish and Northern Irish players in it, complete garbage that it was purely a footballing decision. Scotland may not have the best players, but the fact that Barry Bannan, Jordan Rhodes and Matt Phillips weren't called up is a disgrace, most people seem to agree with that. I know you'll disagree with my MHIY...are you a football fan? Because some of the players in that team (Caulker, Tomkins and Sordell) aren't really that good. But I guess Pearce just stuck to what he knew, rather than cast the net further.

At least with no Scottish players in the team, I don't need to pretend to care about this sham. It isn't team GB. Most of the federations are opposed to it and no one outside of England (if even that) cares.

As for the contenders, I can't believe no one has mentioned Uruguay. Looks like the over-age players will be Muslera, Cavani and Suarez. Some of that team will be contenders for the World Cup, and I think they will win the gold, although Brazil will run them close.

It'll be interesting what the ticket sales will be like for the Hampden games.

As it's the Great British team, proper British folk tend to look at us all the same, and positions should be awarded on merit, not where the players are from. To even contemplate moaning about Scottish or Northern Irish players not being selected when there are 4 Welshmen in it is beyond ridiculous! And also, you cant have it both ways, the way your little "Home Nations" teams have acted about this Olympic team is nothing short of disgraceful, especially as we're the host nation, and frankly you should count yourself lucky that 4 Welshmen were picked. You cant have it both ways, your football association says that it's up to the FA to sort it all out, we dont wanna be involved, and then moan when you're not picked. LOL...
As for myself, Im a fan of international football, though not of club football except when there's a crucial match for Man City or the likes :). And considering the limitations for Team GB - unhelpful and contradictory attitude from the "home nations", the fact that only 3 over-23s can be picked for Olympic football and thr fact that the majority of the 'good' and 'famous' British players are older than this, I think they've done a bloody good job picking the team. It will be a shame if you dont support your country in the year we're hosting.

I support my country at football every time Scotland plays. There is no need to support team GB/England, especially in football. There are no Scottish players on the team, so there isn't even an incentive. I'm really not sure what having 4 Welsh players in the team has to do with anything. Wales is basically a region of England anyway. The FA would have no issue with Welsh players, but they would hate to have Scottish players on the team. As for NI, well tbh none of their players are good enough to play except for Jonny Evans, who is injured. And please don't put "Home Nations" like that, since I seem to recall you supporting the little "Home Nation" of England not too long ago. To be very clear, I am happy that no one from Scotland is taking part, but considering they were available for selection, I was expecting some of our better players to be selected, and the final team just shows that this whole thing is a giant scam, ran by the English FA to blood some of the younger English talent.

Scotland is my country, my nation, my team. They are the only international team I care about. Team GB can get stuffed for all I care.

You must realise that your consequences have actions :). You will not be allowed to get away with such anti-English/British hate, threatening to break-up the United Kingdom and cause problems for the Great British football team, without it having negative consequences against you. Why should any Scot be included when you said that you didnt want there to even be a Great British football team? Hmm? Forever moaning and whining, just shut and put up, your actions bare consequences.
Your attitude to Wales is rather demeaning, it is not part of England in any way shape or form. It is a region of the United Kingdom, as is Scotland :).

Clearly you are bothered about it judging by your attitude here lol. If you have to state "Im not bothered", then it shows that you are!

Just a friendly, not really bothered hun :')

It's a good barometer of how far England can go in the tournament. Yes, England will probably qualify from the group because lol UAE and Senegal, but unless a meteor lands on the other team they have no chance of a medal.

Oh, and Neymar is an arsehole.
