Welcome to Zombira. We have won the last 2 language spinoffs and now it's finally time to take the competition to Netherwing, Zombira.
Let's talk about the favourite topic of nsc: the rules (are rules). Each participating country must pick a language for their song and every language can be picked only once. Made up languages are allowed, fully instrumental is not. In the occasion where your song only has phrases like la la la, which can't be identified as any language, you must choose what language i will call your song being in. Fairly easy, at least i hope so!
Now more about the languages. The idea of the spinoff is to promote languages which we don't see often in nsc, so the more original language you pick, the better. There may be occasions where it isn't clear if 2 languages are actually separate languages or dialects of 1 language. In those cases i will have to decide that. However I'm saying it now that for this spinoff Moldovan=Romanian. You can use either of them, but both can't be used in this spinoff. The situation about the southern slavic languages is complex. They mostly exist due to politics, while linguistically they could be dialects. For that reason i decided that only 2 of the western branch of south slavic languages can be used. Which 2 of them, is up to the participants choice. (the languages in that group: Serbian, Montenegrin, Croatian, Bosnian)
Songs in english are not allowed.
Songs in more than 1 language are generally discouraged, but i might allow them if:
a) there is a small part in the 2nd language which isn't english(less than 20% ((estimated by me))
or
b) if noone else wants any of the languages.
Selection about what to send and which language is up to every person. However this is a brilliant chance to send something different, which wouldnt fit into normal nsc. So go crazy with picking languages. The 2 winners so far have been in Swahili and Bangla, so non traditional languages have huge chances to win!
And to end this, let's listen to the past 2 winners both by Zombira
