So i found this video and i had really forgot how bad the ESC was then, i'm pretty sure i watched this show when it was on but i've forgot pretty much all about it since. 2000 might have been an especially weak year even if it wasn't the best time for ESC overall, there's hardly any notable entries at all, and the winner "Fly on the Wings of Love" is one of my personal worst along with the year before, and it was our own country with "Take Me To Your Heaven"!

But what i especially noticed was this song.... just what exactly was going on there?

This might very well be the worst act ever to appear on the ESC stage. It's not even a joke entry, it might be intentionally bad but it sure doesn't appear to be.... the vocals and overall performance is even worse than "Flying the Flag", which is probably the second worst. So what do you all say? Anyone from Israel care to explain why this song was selected?

I've always loved this one just for being random and cheerful.

This song holds the dubious honour of being one of the strongest contender for Worst Eurovision Song ever. Considering the crap that has been sent to the Contest over the years, it is quite an achievement. And I say this as someone who, like Sannerz, finds this song to be a guilty pleasure! :D

2000 was really bad. I think it must be one of the worst years in ESC history.

Another "so crappy it's good" entry from that year:

Both Macedonia and Israel 2000 are guilty pleasures of mine

And I don't agree about 2000 being "one of the worst ESC years", it's better than 2001-2003 imo.

Those weren't so bad though.... just unfortunately very out of tune. It seems most artists were more or less out of tune that year, as well as the next few years for whatever reason :)

I love that song!

At the beginning, they entered the competition as joke, but it caused lots of controversy in Israel itself, not only because of the sexual connotion in their videoclip, but also for waving the Syrian flag on stage...

I've looked up some info and the "artistic director" & "choreographer" was apparently Eytan Fox. This makes me love the song even more !

Trust me...there have been far worse songs / performances than this! And I dont think you can say that Flying The Flag performance was one of the worst??? Scooch's vocals were very good, it was well choreographed. The only thing wrong with it was that it was extremely cheesy!
