So far a trerrible ESC year for me … but I still haven't given up … IF Portugal should go with Conan to ESC, it is saved … or Iceland with Hatari … or I am having hopes with my own Country … but so far … :(

A whole Eurovision cannot be saved with only one entry and so far i only like Italy a lot!

Tumblr, mostly.
The problem I personally have is that I lack a typical Eurovision bop than I can obsess over. Something uptempo, catchy, accessible, and unabashedly trashy, like idk, a "Dance Alone" or a mello schlager banger. I need such a song before I can fully obsess over a year. Right now Slovenia's entry is the closest to that (matches all the criteria except for the trashiness), but it's not 100% what I look for. Last year we already had Rasmussen and ZiBBZ by late Feb (and Lea but lol she was never going to win EMA, right?)

Hopefully Spirit in the Sky wins in Norway so I can loop that hours on end and put it at #1 without being reminded that it lost the NF :(

Eurovision can still be saved by:

:is: (Hatari)
 (Keiino)
:ua: (Maruv)
:se: (Lisa Ajax)
:pt: (Conan Osiris)

plus from the internal Selections those have Potential: :am::ru::nl::cy::az:

Hmmm...I actually like most of the entries this year, and there are 4 that I love. I think that's more than 2017 (for sure) and 2018 (maaaaybe) atp

Australia has my heart. If nothing comes along that grabs me like that, I'll be OK with it. But I have several songs going I already like a lot (Estonia, Spain, Latvia, Albania and Czech Republic), and with Hatari, Spirit In The Sky (or Morland, both are great), Matay, JHF, Joci Papai and Sashka Janx (or Wonder Strings), I have loads of songs In NFs that could be at Eurovision. Along with a few great internal selections and I'm really looking forward to this year's contest.

Liking a song is not the same as being struck by a favourite. You know, that song you're like "OMG that's brilliant, my life, my love, how could I survive Eurovision until now without this song!" Jokes aside, until now I don't have any THAT'S IT!-song, the one that has winner vibes. I don't have that often anyway. I had it with Rybak, Conchita and Mans Zelmerlöw. To name a few of the past Eurovision decades. The moment you listen to it for the first time and you KNOW it's gonna win.

To be fair, most of the songs are still to come, but I feel the same desparation like in 2017 where only the last 10 songs that had been released saved that year for me.

It feels weird to be getting worried when not even a third of the songs have been announced yet, but I am concerned. I like to have "hype" songs, ones that get you excited for the contest. I'm missing that right now, and I'm also missing music I can really connect with. Nothing so far speaks to me on a personal level. The problem as well is that none of the NFs left are likely to provide me with anything that will improve my year. I probably have the most hope with Portugal, but then it's still an uncertainty there. I need something crazy fun that slays me, I need something that touches my heart, I need something alternative that's actually interesting.

So far I only get enjoyment from Italy, Romania and Albania, and in good years these songs (certainly Romania and Albania anyway) would struggle reaching my top 10. It's an incredibly dull year thus far, and so the internal choices are really going to have to turn it out. The problem is I'm hardly looking forward to any of internally selected artists.

Anyway, I think that my new favourite might be :ua: or :de: if they select the right song.
