Are You a Humanist? » British Humanist Association

As humanist, I was just wondering and decided to make this test... This is all about "Are you atheist". As I know, humanism takes religious things to second plan, nothing to refuse exist of a God, doesnt it?

This test is crap.

What is a humanist, I've never understood? I know that atheism and humanism dont come hand in hand though, our King, Edward VI, was an evangelical Protestant and devoutly religious, but also a humanist.

There shouldnt be a test of religion. If you are happy with your beliefs, you can call yourself whatever you want.

I always thought humanism was putting the human race before God - not necessarily being atheist/agnostic but not basing your decisions on God's will and the Bible/Koran/etc

It says I am 40% humanist. OK. I don't know in what presumptions this test is created....

My conclusion is that don't think that "humansim" and "atheism" should be necessarily connected....why someone who is a humanist, should be immediately an atheist? I regard myself as a humanist, but I am religious in the same time (Catholic)...
