So, the time for the NINTH House-Dance Music Contest has come!!
I will organize it, so send your songs to me! I will also try to send reminders to everyone who has participated before and/or might participate again. May is the best possible month for all forum contests, because it has many people, so take advantage of it.
The deadline for receiving songs is 8th May, noon, because I have the idea to slowly move the HDMC a little later, towards the middle of the month, so that this time period is more exciting, since we have nothing else to do on FSC then. If you like or don't like the idea, please comment. The show will probably be the same day at evening.
The rules:
Every country sends 2 songs. These songs are either remixes, or from the type "DJ feat. Singer" or are just fitting the house and dance genres. This is not as limiting as you might think - we've had everything from oriental rhythms from Turkey and Bulgaria, through the modern sounds of romanian current commercial music, to the trance gems in Denmark and Norway, from the excentric japanese tracks to the usual dance themes in Europe. We just need great rhythm and appropriatness of the songs to be played in night clubs in your country. Well, history shows that rap songs don't do well either, but well, as long as it's not metal or ballads or too ordinary pop music, I think we'll be mostly able to accept it. Also, there is absolutely no time limit. If you think a song from 1950 is appropriate, send it, only I doubt you'll find one
Oh, I almost forgot - another new idea I have. Since it is already a tradition to present all the songs one by one in HDMC, and since we've agreed that promoting the songs throughout the voting process is not a bad thing - you can send your promotions to me. I will post the song and the text (not too long please, I will edit some of the texts if they are too long) and maybe a picture of the performer/DJ/whatever together with the flag video on youtube, so that you can have the promotion right away. Besides, while you listen to the song for the first time, you don't have anything to do, but wait for the next one - this text will give you something to do while you're listening. Again - comment below on whether you like the idea.
So, you have plenty of time, over a week, so choose your entries and send them to me! I expect Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Denmark, Spain and Belgium to take part, we might also have Portugal, Azerbaijan solidify their participation, and who knows - it's always possible for Poland, Japan, Russia, Croatia or Norway to return as well. Any more newcomers are always welcome too.
