There is too much political discussion about Marina's yawn, and I am not sure at all how this can impact our future participation. I even don't exclude a WITHDRAWAL next year :eek:
Seriously? Are they making a big fuss about that?

This topic every year:
-Greeks worrying about a possible retirement;
-Me calling for Greece to select a girl with a guitar in order to win Eurovision Song Contest (I dreamt it a few years ago, please make it happen)

There are no signs of retirement from the contest. Greek gossip TV shows always exaggerate things, but even with that exaggeration no one has said that a yawn will lead to withdrawal.

I'm just wondering who we can send to finally achieve a top-5 result - last time was in 2008. Maybe now that Marina didn't make it, we'll get back to young girls leaving abroad.

It would be crazy to withdraw from a TV show that so many people watched just to please some trolls.

Any chance to get Konstantinos Argiros? He would be magnet for televote.
He has said in interviews that he could go to Eurovision at some point in the future. I believe he would be a good choice.

The comment we were all waiting for. :ROFLMAO:

By the way... a new song by the Queen.
"Xrysopsara" (means "goldfish")

I will say , Marina is going to be a tough act to follow for anybody. Not so much because of her placement (Best televote we've had since 2013 despite 11th place) but because of the cultural impact she has had in the country (and outside the country) afterwards.

No artist that has competed since Paparizou or maybe Kalomira has had a similar post contest impact. (And then Eleni Foureira but she competed for Cyprus obviously).

But Marina's impact might be the reason we see more "big names" be interested in participating in Eurovision in the future. That's why i wouldn't be surprised if we do in fact see someone like Argiros possibly competing soon.

Give me something like this, Greece. In fact this was a big hit in Bulgaria and the biggest stars here(Azis and Galena) made a cover that has already 30+ Million views. But yeah, let’s go for something like this!

Marina's epic entry brought my inner greek ethno self to life.

A couple of early suggestions;

PAGAN - They combine folk with rock and metal elements. They are really good live performers, their performances feel like a dionysian fest.

Babo koro - Same style as PAGAN more or less.

Ok, she's the one for the 2nd Greek win
It would be funny if we went with back to back Marinas. I think we will definitely see this girl at Eurovision at some point but probably not next year.

Some of my favorite songs from her

I can see her doing well with a Salvador type intimate staging and performance tbh. :unsure:
