Welcome to this FSC September 2020 Spin-Off featuring favorite ‘Band/Group'-songs from the
whole world . Our host city is : Montevideo, Uruguay, the Capital & largest city of Uruguay.
The city has a population of around 1.320.00 in an area of 201 km2. The southernmost capital
in the Americas, Montevideo is on the southeast coast on the north bank of the Río de la Plata
The city was established in 1724 by a Spanish soldier , Bruno Mauricio de Zabala, as a strateg
ic move amidst the SpanishPortuguese dispute over the platine region. It was also under brief
British rule in 1807 . Montevideo is the seat of the administrative headquarters of Mercosur, &
ALADI, Latin America's leading trade blocs. The cityname comes from 'monte', hills across bay
A few years after its foundation , Montevideo became the main city , of the region north of the
Río de la Plata , and east of the Uruguay River , competing with Buenos Aires for dominance in
maritimecommerce. The architecture of Montevideo ranges from Neoclassical buildings such
as the Metropolitan Cathedral , to the Postmodern style of the World Trade Center Montevideo
Prominent in the cityscape , is also the 158-metre (518 ft) ANTEL Telecommunication Tower,
the tallest skyscraper in Uruguay . Along with Telecommunications Tower , the Palacio Salvo
dominates skyline of the Bay of Montevideo . Other city sights: Palacio Legislativo (Uruguyan
Parliament) Pocitos district, Old City, Parque Batlle, Fortress delCerro, Rambla of Montevideo
There is also the Punta Brava Lighthouse and Nuestra Señora del Sagrado Corazón church, as
well as many museums includ. the National History Museum of Montevideo, and The National
Museum of Visual Arts . As the Uruguayan Capital , Montevideo is home to many festivals and
carnivals includ. a Gaucho festival , and the annual Montevideo Carnival. Tourism is important
Our Host venue is: the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Uruguay . It is Uruguay's most import
ant and renowned theatre . It opened in 1856 , and the building was designed in neoclassical
style by the Italian architect Carlo Zucchi. It is located in Montevideo's Old Town, right next to
the Plaza Independencia. In 1998, the government of Montevideo started a major reconstruct
ion of the theatre , which included two columns, designed by Philippe Starck. The reconstruct
ion was completed in 2004 , with the re-opening taking place in August of that year . Acoustic
studies of the rehabilitation project was entrusted to Jerome Falala, of the French studio Avel
Acoustique. Tomás Giribaldi's La Parisina, considered the first Uruguayan national opera, was
premiered at the Solís on September 14th , 1878 . Some have called this theatre the heart and
soul of the city’s performing arts scene , and what stands today the product of Uruguay’s unfa
iling dedication to theatre / artistic expression. They are proud to host this evening's Spin-Off.

Bárbara Mori is a famous Uruguayan model, actress, producer and writer also of Mexican de
scent born in Montevideo . She is known for playing the main character , in the famous 2004
telenovela ‘Rubí’. She is proud and happy to co-host this evening’s Spin-Off editon of the FSC
Veronica Zoppolo is a famous Uruguayan model born in Montevideo. She has been in several
elite model agencies incl. ‘Elite Model Management’ - Milan and ‘Angels & Demons Model Ma
nagement’- Paris. She is proud and happy to co-host this evening’s Spin-Off editon of the FSC
