The Rules for this FSC February 2024: "Best Of: One Hit Wonders" Spin-Off

1. Any member at ESCUounited.com may take part. Individual participation (one person pr entry)
2. Choose any available country (one country pr person). It is enough that 1 person in a duo is from that country
3a. Choose a song that is a ‘One Hit Wonder’ i.e. a song that is famous and iconic for the artist in question
3b. This song is what they are remembered for / identified with (if they had a few other hits, they were considerably less successful)
4. Covers are allowed. Entry can be from any timeperiod. One member of a duo must be from the country in question
5. An artist may only take part for one country pr edition. First come, first serve
6. A song may only take part once pr edition. First come, first serve
7. All kinds of videos can be used. No MP3s will be used in this edition, just videos

- but the following are not allowed:

1) Songs that have taken part in ESC/NFs, or FSC/FSC Spin-Offs before

2) Songs that are not considered ‘One Hit Wonders’ (f.ex. songs by famous artists with long careers and stacked discographies).

If there is doubt whether a song is eligible, the Show Host (Malagant) will decide

Some added clarifications:

The song does not have to be an international hit. If it was a huge hit in 1 country (One Hit Wonder) but uknown anywhere else, that is good enough.

If the song was a huge hit in say USA, a One Hit Wonder there, but the artist/group was successful in Europe, it cannot take part. That is what was meant by thinking 'globally'.

If the artist has many albums and singles and a career over many years, even if it has an iconic song which it is identified with, it cannot take part. It is not a One Hit Wonder as we consider it.

So please everyone look at artists and groups with few hits, short-ish careers, and with that One Big Moment in the Sun.

I hope this makes it easier for everyone to find eligible entries since I have had to disallow some entries submitted already.
