It's now even easier for Brazil and Argentina to qualify. Africa is still a hot mess, where a lot can happen, due to the format. Europe might also be a hot mess, since only firsts can qualify and predicted seconds(Norway, Czech Republic...) often are good enough for surprises. North America can go crazy and Asia has some sure qualifiers, like Japan and Iran and then some surprises. Oceania=New Zealand(normally).

My analysis on the Africa's qualifications :

Group A :

Egypt : The squad is strong but getting older, they might struggle to qualify but they're still the favourite of the group

Burkina Faso : Always a very dangerous opponent, they look a bit weaker than a few years ago tho, but who knows

Guinea Bissau/Sierra Leone/Ethiopia : They could take a few points from the two above but I don't see a hope for them

Djibouti : Hopeless

Guess : Rn I would say Egypt qualifies and Burkina Faso goes to play-offs

Group B :

Senegal : Very solid team, Mané, Koulibaly and all are getting older but there are some great youngsters coming, the team will still be strong in 3 years

DR Congo : Good team for now and still room for improvement, they could be a tough challenge

Mauritania and Sudan : Teams that could surprise on a game but they're clearly weaker than the two above

Togo/South Sudan : Hopeless

My guess : Senegal qualifies and DR Congo goes to play-offs

Group C :

Nigeria : They have a very good generation coming, watch out guys !

South Africa, Benin and Zimbabwe are always random.org, you always have to watch out but ultimately they're not that dangerous

Rwana and Lesotho are hopeless

Guess : Nigeria qualifies easily, South Africa goes to play-offs but won't make it anyway

Group D :

Cameroon : I assume they would've got rid of Song by then so their team might be solid even if some players are getting older

Cape Verde : Always a pain in the ass to play, very solid team but I can't really tell where they'll be in 3 years

Angola : Has a pretty cool team coming

Libya : Could take some points on a game or something but ultimately they're weaker than the three above

Eswatini and Mauritius : Ded

Guess : I would say Cameroon makes it but they'll have a hell of a hard time, Cape Verde goes to play-offs

Group E :

Morocco : Well the objective is to reach at least quarter finals in 2026 so we should qualify

Zambia : Always random.org these guys, they come win an AFCON then disappear, then become decent again, then disappear, now it looks like they're back but I have no way to predict how they'll be in next few years

Congo and Tanzania : They're both alright but it's not strong enough to make it

Niger and Eritrea are dead

My guess : Morocco qualifies, Congo goes to play offs but won't make it anyway

Group F :

Ivory Coast : One of the most underperforming teams in the last 10 years, hope they can finally level up, they should make it

Gabon : Always tricky to play them, but they're starting to be in decline

Gambia : Okay now that's a team am VERY interested in, they reached quarter finals in last AFCON, their U20 team did well in WC and they qualified for next AFCON, dangerous team

Burundi and Seychelles are dead

My guess : Ivory Coast qualifies and Gambia goes to play offs

Group G :

Algeria : Team is getting a rebuilding, I think they'll be very solid and seeking for revenge

Guinea : They're always pretty solid, always have to watch out for these guys

Uganda and Mozambique : Random.org, they might be decent, they might not be, right now they're both alright

Botswana and Somalia : Dead

Group H :

Tunisia : Never an impressive team but always solid, organised tactically and big group cohesion, they had a decent 2022 WC, hope they can have a better 2026 one

Equatorial Guinea : Now that's a very annoying team to face, not great technically but a lot of intensity in their game and great defensive organisation, they're quite consistent rn

Namibia and Malawi : Not easy to face but still Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea should beat them

Liberia and Sao Tome : Dead

Group G :

Mali : Their generation is impressive, they'll be mature in 2026 and very dangerous

Ghana : Pffff always tough to predict them, it looks like they always struggle against African teams and get pretty good against other continents teams

Madagascar & Comoros : Two wonder teams (AFCON 2019 and 2021) but didn't confirm after, don't see them making it

Central Africa : Nah not good enough

Chad : Dead

My guess : Mali makes it, Ghana goes to play offs

Top 4 of 2nds will face each other in play-offs then face a team from another continent, my guess is these 4 teams will be : Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea (could be Gambia or Guinea)

48 Countries is a Joke.
Even the Euro 2032 will probably have 32 Teams.

Well, with this expanded format, the OFC will be guaranteed a spot in the World Cup. I always felt bad for Oceania* when it wasn't represented in the tournament.

* = Not counting AFC member Australia

New Zealand "only" needed to beat Mexico, Costa Rica and Peru in order to qualify for the World Cup, which was fair and balanced.
From now on they will only have to beat Tahiti and Solomon Islands to qualify. This is way to easy.

According to Rumours on Twitter, Saudi Arabia is the Big Favourite for 2034, since only Asia and Oceania are eligible.

Yeah, giving some games in 2030 to Argentina/Paraguay/Uruguay made South America non-eligible for 2034, and that makes less potential candidates against Saudi Arabia

"coincidence" *cough cough*

Kudos to Venezuela... with 6 1/2 teams qualifying from South America they stand a good chance to qualify for the first time. But it's still a long way to go.

Btw. what about 2038? Only Concacaf is eligible, right?
