It's not about the contestants, the songs, nor the performance, it's about the place where they performed, complete with LED screen, pyrotechnics, confettis, and the others. And don't forget the building, is it too big, or is it too small, is it too crowded, is it not intimate enough, discuss it here!

Personally, my favorite stages are :fi: 2007, :ru: 2009, :de: 2011, and :se: 2013, what's yours?

There were lots of great stages/venues in Eurovision history, but Düsseldorf 2011 was the best imo.

My favourites are probably :se: 13 :de: 11 and :rs: 08.

Actually stage was one of the very few things that I liked about this year's contest.

My favourites:
 2010 - I wish we had more stages like this. Different, simple, looks great.
:se: 2013 - Perfect venue! The stage was also very different, I loved that they didn't use LED screens. The catwalk was also nice.

:lv: 2003. undisputed. I mean look at how massive it was, the graceful curves of the arches, the little hoops in the background that move about, the small little lights all around the periphery of the stage acting as stars. Then the island outside of the main stage where the hosts announced the votes and the strangest green room which was revealed in an amazing way, something that they tried to copy in 2011 but didn’t quite get it. The minimal usage of LEDs but still impressive lighting, it was just such a fantastic stage that suited every song from Russia to Belgium to Turkey to the UK to France. The only fault I can find with it is that it set me up with an expectation of phenomenal stages for the years to come, and I’ve been sorely disappointed ever since. Well done especially for something like Latvia in 2003 to do this so well.

 2010, xfaint i actually don't like that stage, yes it's simple but it's not that great looking, the background lights look cheap

:se: 2013, i couldn't agree more :D, i think it's the arch and the crystal lamps that make the stage very different and beautiful, and i loved that they use projectors, because of them, the display's shape could be unique and not really square-y (i don't know a word to fit in )

I will rank the 2000-2013 stages differently:

:se: 2000: 6/10 Great stage, and original. Way better than previous stages to my taste.
:dk: 2001: 4/10 Sorry but I didn't like Parken as Eurovision venue.
:ee: 2002: 6/10 Cute and familiar imo :)
:lv: 2003: 3/10 The one I dislike the most from 2000 to 2013... it had nothing really special to it. The Green Room was by far the best thing.
:tr: 2004: 8/10 xbow
:ua: 2005: 5/10 It was an OK stage.
:gr: 2006: 8/10 xbow any stage capable of putting up with the 2006 :es: entry without collapsing deserves great respect xrofl3 I liked the stage as well.
:fi: 2007: 4/10 A bit boring to my taste xpopcorn
:rs: 2008: 7/10 As well as 2006, any stage capable of putting up with :es:, :fr:, :ie:, :ba: and :ee: without collapsing is great xrofl3 xrofl3 xrofl3 xrofl3
:ru: 2009: 6/10 It's not that great to me, out of the big stages I still prefer :tr: 2004
 2010: 4/10 Good stage, horrible LEDs.
:de: 2011: 20/10 xbow xbow xbow xbow Perfect. And this is why the Germans rock in Europe xbow
:az: 2012: 9/10 No one has talked about the Crystal Hall. I'm taking it as an offense
:se: 2013: 10/10 xbow xbow The best thing this year by far.

And I have a premonition that I won't like :dk: 2014 stage...

Well for me, 2000 is not that good, 2001, both stage and venue are bad, 2002 is kinda ordinary, but 2003 is pretty cool with the moving arch/curves, hate the LED floor tho.

I don't really know what 2004 looks like, 2005 is ugly, LED pipes are the worst idea for a stage

2006 is not that great, a stage based on ancient greek theater is not a good thing for me, and then there's the 2007, IT'S AWESOME! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STAGE!!!!!!

2008 is cool, but it should have been bigger for such an arena like Belgrade Arena, and 2009, i think it's too big, but it's okay because the arena is pretty big too

2010, agree, but i think the stage is not that good, 2011 is actually too simple but i can resist the big beautiful LED screen and the stage design

2012 is a beautiful one too, like the LEDs, and 2013 is just awesome for such a small stage!
