Dears, just i read that the FIFA just was signed an agreement with Interpol to investigate illegal gambling parties & arranged to avoid foul during 10 years the fixings of matchs and illegal sgambling networks.


Do you Beliver that this should apply in Eurovision soon too..??To avoid buying of points of any country for any purpose in the Semi or in the Final, cause the jury had in Eurovision had an aweak point: that can be manipulated easily with money :twisted:..??

I think it should be made obligatory for all broadcasters to publish exhaustive reports on the televoting and SMS voting in the days after the contest.

Does anyone care that much about Eurovision to bribe it? I mean bribing FIFA so your country can host the World Cup is a pretty big and important thing, but bribing the EBU so you can qualify for the Eurovision final? Pfft.

There are countries that consider it a matter of national pride to be able to host the Eurovision Song Contest. Not so much in Western Europe, but just look at the reaction in Azerbaijan, or Greece in 2006.
This is not to say I think there is widespread corruption, but the ESC remains a pretty major event, and is actually one of the biggest (if not the biggest) international non-sporting live event.

I totally agreew with this. Individual votes broken down by jury & televote should be provided shortly after the Final Show for transparency purposes. This will definitely be helpful detecting fraudulent or corrupted Jury votes.

I dont think that it is necessary for Eurovision, corruption in this way is not a big problem, I dont think anyway.
Eurovision has more problems with voting which isnt actually malpractice, especially on the televote, though this seems to be slowly ironed out.

EBU has changed the rules few weeks ago. All broadcasters should send them detailed stats of each juror's votes. Imo, it should be made public. Some broadcasters do not even reveal the jurors, not talking about their voting

This HAS to be done. It's just better in terms of transparency. If they're not hiding anything, then reveal them voting stats.

Yeah, but for me, this symbolic act is enough to make me trust them. If a jury is willing enough to show their votes, then I could trust them more (regardless of whether they're bribed or not).

If they use a jury for each participating broadcaster to balance the national televotes they should announce (or at least show) the split results live during the voting prodecure. Shortly after the contest would not be enough IMHO. The audience obviously needs to know whom they voted for and also this most probably would prevent too strong political votes from the broadcasters (bribing, however, cannot be unveiled that way).

I think that the fact that they just release the split-up results like some days after the contest & not in the first hours after it (like they do with the semi-results) proves that they are able to manipulate it

I personally don't believe that the EBU is fudging the results. But I am not denying the fact that there could be corrupt jury members who would vote a certain ways for favors. So transparency is incredibly important and the results should be published in detail including all juror names and their votes.

We are making a lot of progress in that field and hopefully the EBU will make it compulsory soon.
