Debut year for Cyprus. And one of the most memorable editions of the contest. Reading about it is learning what Eurovision is all about :)

1- :il: Israel
2- :gr: Greece
3- :de: Germany
4- :pt: Portugal (only 9 points? This song was beyond robbed. At least the Germans seemed to get the appeal of it. One of the best Portuguese entries of all time, still sung by everybody nowadays. Contains some of the wittiest and funniest lyrics in the contest ever)
5- :ch: Switzerland
6- :uk: UK
7- :at: Austria
8- :fr: France
9- :be: Belgium
10- :nl: Netherlands

01. :gr: The best ever Greek entry. Underrated? Melancholic yet so warm and soothing xheart
02. :ch: possibly also the best Swiss entry. Love the panpipes and Italian language is a plus!
03. :de: Catchy though I can see why some people dislike it
04. :pt: another underrated entry. Performance is 3 minutes of fun! RIP :(
05. :be: Another underrated entry in the scoreboard. Good staging too!
06. :il: Lovely disco tune!
07. :cy: solid debut!
08. :uk: i don't know if I would've liked it this much had I not seen the performance. Okay winner
09. :fr: Liking the organ at the beginning!
10. :at: UNDERRATED. Killed by that awful staging. I mean, WTF

11. :dk: Good song. Took me a while to remember it though
12. :es: Okay, decent.
13. :nl: average. Forgettable
14. :se: not my cup of tea
15. Irritating chorus
16. :yu: Irritating vocals
17. :tr: good but forgettable
18. :lu: Dated cheese
19. :ie: just no
20. :fi: Reggae not okay!

Not ranking and not bothering with the weaker songs (never get the point of that, no time for it)

Danish (nice energy and performance, weak lyrics though as most hearing it wouldn't have known....)
Greek (good ballad and interesting lyrics)
Ireland (catchy, light dance number like UK one but less skittish sounding)
Israeli (good melody, performance alright if not among the best)

UK one would be in top 5 I guess, but not really a winner beyond their energy. Vocally not the best, like the Israeli. Lyrics ok.

Overall at present I would have been happy with Danish, Greek or Israeli song winning.
