Since last year saw the rising of dark horses to top spots (speaking of :at: and :nl: ) we really should keep an eye on them this year as well, despite all the hype and fangirling.

So, speaking of dark horses, these are mine so far:

:dk: :ie: :nl: they have everything a dark horse needs to win

It looks like many countries have upped their game this year, but this means more polarization and that a compromise winner looks likely which cuts it by political powervotes like :lt: :ge: :rs: . They are decent and have good neighbours as well as diaspora, but are no killer songs. (Remember :az: 2011? )

:lv: I think could win the whole thing.

:mt: I predicted as a possible winner when it was first revealed. I don't think so really anymore, but a top 10 is very possible.

:sl::rs: Both have the power to surprise and do well. In a year where the fun is sorely lacking, these two countries provide us with some.

And last of all I think :fi: will do very well, despite what a lot of fans would tell you. They are a favourite with the betting though, so i'm unsure they could really be considered a dark horse.

I think France could surprise a lot of people.

Imo France won't be a Dark Horse this year if we consider that it could be among the 10 (or even 15) first positions. For me the dark horses this year may be either :cy: or :ie:

:ie: or :cy: indeed.

I know :lv: is a fan favourite but I guess it can count as a dark horse too as it's terribly underrated in the odds.

I haven't listened to all the songs yet, but I think Malta and Latvia are dark horses. As anselm pointed out, I really really can't understand how bookies are underrating Latvia so much. I guess it's because of Latvia's terrible recent history in the contest.
