Okay, Lenny is most likely our representant (at least from today´s informations :D)
1) She does gigs in small clubs, but also at Czechia´s biggest festival (Colours of Ostrava)
2) Last year in ESCZ, she played on piano while singing "Good Enough"
3) Her songs aren´t techno so...
4) And she posted a story on IG with vinyls today :D

This can be like half of our music scene. I don't think it's Lenny with the new hint today (spotify wrapped top 5 of the artist is Ariana Grande, Conan Gray, Troye Sivan, Mahmood and Raye). That sounds a lot like it could be ADONXS. Better choice than Lenny, at least for me.

All the hints are pointing to :sk: Adonxs. I'd far prefer Lenny but it looks like they've gone in a different direction for 2025.

Adonis would be great but honestly, he should bring Slovakia back and make it Top 10.

Impossible with the current Slovak government and their dismantling of the public broadcaster.
But maybe good result for Adonxs can convince them ESC is a good project they should be part of - although I doubt it - since ADONXS is gay, he would be seen as a proof that ESC is part of evil western progressive propaganda.

With the last hint it is now basically confirmed it is ADONXS, as the gloves are matching

We have talked about ADONXS in the last 2 years and he's been also constantly mentioning ESC as his dream, so I am happy for him. I hope the song is good (I don't think we will hear it today).

Apparently, the song is called Wasted and it is once again product of the Czech song writing camp which already gave us Friend of a Friend, Lights Off and Who The Hell Is Edgar?

That's really interesting, for sure.
He's got some great tracks on his hands and it's quite a unique choice!

The songs you've mentioned @nofuxCZ were all catchy, good and enjoyable but I hope he will be getting something with more depth... or something edgier to match his stage persona. The songs were competitive enough to reach the final (they were accompanied by great performances) but they got lost in the mix. I could totally understand their teleovting scores in the GF (even though they deserves more).

Really pleased to hear this, I've been listening to ADONXS since I was recommended Game last year - it's a great song, and the MV shows a good artistic vision that could mean a good performance. https://youtu.be/OBavj3fWrQw?si=ocJECi2tYQZmFF7e

I just hope that as Mainshow says, he gets to keep his edgier persona. I'd hate to see his style filed down by a committee-produced ESC writing camp song.

Tumblr, mostly.
It's an interesting choice, kind of a gustaph-esque choice? Indie gay in the music scene, camp outwards, insane vocal range...

I hope his song isn't some MISERABLE TUNE. That would be shame for the rare Slovakian appearance at ESC.

The song should be out next year
Ahmad also denied the song is "Wasted"

Also, big news!

In another announcement for Wednesday 10 December, Czechia's national broadcaster ČT revealed that the broadcasts of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be moving to their main channel, ČT 1.

Some points from his interview with Refresher during which he learnt he was selected
(https://refresher.cz/172252-Zname-k...onxs-se-chysta-dobyt-Svycarsko-i-evropsky-trh, the announcement and his reaction at 3:00):

-the song is a step in a different direction for him, blending his more usual sound with somewhat of a "country western"
-the song will not be out this year
-the song has a concept of a "glamorous western duel" with some toxic relationship connotations and general feeling of adventure
-it was written during a session when they were trying to write things for Eurovision and took a little break to "just do something for fun with a retro vintage feel, starting with Cher's Bang Bang and guitars from the 70s in mind"
-Maella from ESCZ 2023 was involved in the songwriting process as well
-he was in the ESCZ crowd in Roxy last year
-at one point, he drops the name of Ewa Farná as having been in the running in our selection at some point in the past. It's not 100% clear he means this / last year but I would say he does based on them also speaking about his sister currently working with Ewa. I think if that's true, it's a pretty good sign.

I want to ask something 🤔
Do people from Czechia and Slovakia speak exactly the same language or it is more like Serbia-Montenegro, Estonia-Finland, Russia-Belarus, Ukraine-Poland ?

Choice sounds interesting! But now that it says it has a western touch, I start to doubt again. I hope it is not a typical kind of ... I usually love this kind of music (I am a huge Morricone-Fan), but more in movies, mostly not in Pop-songs. Well, I will let myself surprise, I guess!

I would say we speak two different languages that are as close as they can afford to avoid being called the same language :D the vocabulary is extremely similar, the main difference are slang words and pronunciation which still follows very similar patterns.

Someone could argue it is the same language with different dialects  but in general we speak very similar languages and we can understand each other without issues, unless someone speaks some weird dialect (usually eastern Slovak dialects, which can be difficult even for people from Bratislava and western parts of Slovakia).
Czech and Slovak languages form dialect continuum, that means there is no clear boundary between the languages and eastern Czech dialects blend in western Slovak dialects.
Like this Slovak rapper from Záhorie (western :sk: bordering south-east :cz:), if you were to say if he speaks Slovak or eastern Czech dialects, it would be very difficult as it is almost like a perfect mix of both https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_5fewu6xOg
