Re: CZECH REPUBLIC 2019
As the most "eurovisiony" act, Barbora is probably going to win the jury half of the voting. But I believe the Czech part of voting will be mostly a battle between Lake Malawi and Jakub Ondra. Firstly Barbora is not very known to general audience, secondly she does absolutely nothing to change that. I am very curious to see her episode of that Offstage show and her busking, because to be honest, I don't really know what she's like and whether she has what it takes, personally. But she's the very last person in the line-up with #8, so we must wait til next Friday to find out.
BTW, I was curious whether some Czech singers or other influencers support any of the entrants and I found out (mostly thanks to their Instagrams), that:
Václav Noid Bárta (45K followers on IG) wasted his vote on Andrea Holá.
Tereza Mašková (153K) and Kristián Mensa (cartoonist and one of Mikolas' dancers, 53K) support Pam Rabbit.
Eva Burešová (102K), Adam Mišík (135K), Gabriela Heclová (248K), Sofian Medjmedj (11K) and superinfluential tv and radio personality Leoš Mareš (699K) are all for Lake Malawi.
Realistically speaking, I think there's only one person potentially even more influential than Leoš Mareš, a youtuber and talk show host Shopaholic Nicol (687K). And her boyfriend was a DOP of Space Sushi music video, so... It will be interesting to see whether she decides to promote Space Sushi in some way, to be totally quiet about it or potentially to do a game-changing move and support Barbora, since I have a suspicion that True Colors could be the closest song to Nicol's personal music taste.
One of her closest friends, another hugely influential youtuber Kovy (554K) tends to support whatever she does, so I can imagine sort of a chain-reaction. Kovy is gay, loves quirky humour and supported Mikolas last year, so I think he would love either Space Sushi or Easy to Believe. But I can be wrong.
This is just me thinking out loud, maybe it has no importance. But when I see the very low numbers of views under ČT's YouTube videos and much higher numbers of some those influencers' followers, I wouldn't underestimate the power of their potential support.
