The bops are fine but hopefully we can move on to something different in 2020

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Third time the charm? If Cyprus could somehow combine the formula of the past two years, but manage to get a singer onboard that both have performance skills and great live vocals, I could see Cyprus eventually winning... I liked Replay , but a bit more "oomph" might be needed for ESC though...

fuego 3.0 from someone who was born in another country in eastern europe so they can lock in 36 points (24 from greece + 12 from this country's televote). i wholly expect them to try this formula one more time and only give up when they NQ with it lol.

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Someone Cypriot please. We have a lot of talented Cypriot artists, no need to try all the time foreign artists, songwriters and choreographers, and the only Cypriot thing to be the flag. :?

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Top 2 Cyrpus results this decade came with foreign artists so i see no reason to go back to Cypriot artists.

Re: CYPRUS 2020

man, life must be so easy being so simplistic and not doing much critical thinking

cyprus absolutely should be cultivating and encouraging national talent to step forward and attempt to represent the country with their own compositions. other countries are not a reliable source of good entries for any one country. even with greece and cyprus being so closely linked, cyprus shouldn't have to depend so much on greece either. they need to put more effort on finding potential in their own artists.

but, as i said, i don't expect intelligence to prevail just yet and i do think fuego 3.0 with a woman from another country is bound to happen. i will even try to guess a name now because it's so obvious. athena manoukian? she is greek and was rumoured to be in genealogy for armenia in 2015 - done and done.

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Replay was saved by the juries and it tanked HARD on televote (the aspect that matters most when sending bops with hype), so Fuego 3.0 might be unlikely.

But what kind of formula would they try then?

Fuego 3.0 will happen next year I have a feeling about... if not by Cyprus then by someone else

Re: CYPRUS 2020

I loved both Fuego & Replay so I will not mind if they send another bop xheat I think I would enjoy...

Still, tbh I would like to see them trying something different...

What a pathetic attitude. Your country was sending one Cypriot after another for years (Anna Vissi, Sarbel, Loucas Yiorkas, Maria-Elena Kyriakou, Eleftheria Eleftheriou) and you dare to say that we don't need to go back to Cypriot artists? What's wrong with Cypriot artists? :?

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Last year i was hoping that Cyprus went with 17 year old cypriot talent Marina Jungwirth who was imo a top 2 stand out from last year's The Voice

Maybe they go for her this year.

Re: CYPRUS 2020

Because the success of Eleni had little to do with her nationality and everything to do with her performance.

As is the case with all artists.

Yeah i agree on that but said that i don't see where is the problem if a country has success with foreign artists.
