Cars underway to Baku for this weekend’s City Challenge
HAHN/BAKU – October 22nd, 2012 – Yesterday evening, two cargo airplanes are leaving from Hahn Airport in the cente of Germany, carrying all the cars and equipment for this weekend’s inaugural City Challenge in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Two Silkway-Boeing 747-400 F cargo airplanes are carrying a total of 24 GT3 cars, two so-called ‘race-taxis’, 15 historic Formula 1 cars and eight drift cars plus approximately 100 tons of equipment for the teams.
Plenty of race trailers could be seen on Germany’s motorways in the past few days, partly from last weekend’s DTM finale at Hockenheim and partly to deliver cars and equipment at Hahn Airport for air transport to Baku for the City Challenge event. The

At Baku airport, the cars and equipment will be unloaded and once all the formalities have been cleared, everything will be transported to the paddock, which is located in front of the famous
Government House near the Caspian seaside.
