Belgium's dutch and french entries

Have you ever noticed that Belgium was doing much worse with the songs provided by the dutch broadcaster than the french one? I really don't understand that, surely it cannot be because of the language, since Netherlands scored high a lot back then. Entries like 1981 and 1987 were very underrated and If my memory serves right, Belgium never was in top 10 with the dutch entries.
Feel free to express your opinion on the subject.

Yes, I have noticed that !

I don't know why tbh, most were probably not so good. 1981 & 1987 were probably the best songs . Most placings are deserved imo .

Flanders' best placement was Tom Dice 6th (I think) together with Bob Benny - Hou toch van mij, followed by Louis Neefs (Jennifer Jennings & Ik heb zorgen).
