Nirvana in Griffin Empire: record-breaking victory for Zoi
Öösingmäed voting sparks anti-Laetingmaa debate online

sfPjcwB.jpg
The tenth edition of Griffiniskaja Laul has just been completed in a typically chaotic Griffin spirit. On the throne for the first time was the flag of the Principality of Färzas-Laetingmaa represented by Zoi and her song Nirvana. Zoi collected a total of 196 points, breaking the record for the most points collected previously held by the song Halb või hea, which won with 154 points. In second place was Maja from Foreõsvdetrre, and in third place was a duet from Pzyerüyölkeä.

In the evening full of glitz, glam and tribute performances that celebrated the history of this competition, but also the theme - "Socialist Federal Laul", the vote of the jury from Öösingimäed attracted the most attention. Namely, while reading their results, the spokesperson decisively gave 10 points to "Lætingmaa", after which he corrected himself and stated the full name of the principality. Although a seemingly insignificant mistake, it provoked a heated debate on Griffin Twitter about how much this slip was actually a slip or whether the controversial separatist party "Lăbĕť făr Lătĭnma" had an impact on the vote. However, despite that, Zoi picked up the highest marks from Griffin televoting, which definitely proved these conspiracy theories wrong. Let Färzas - Lætingmaa enjoy their first win!

As many as 16 countries voted at the tenth Griffiniskaja Laul, and for the first time, Mormadorei, Sween, Belvist and Rehi Kaita were among them. Full results including the separate jury and televoting votes can be found here: GL10 wiki link

During these ten editions, this festival gave us one WLSC winner two WLSC winners, one second and three third places, and three more top 10 placements. The most successful principality was Meremaa with two wins, two second and two third places, while Õklingsmaa is the only principality without a victory. As many as three last places were won by Färzas - Lætingmaa, while Pzyerüyölkeä and Meremaa have not yet finished in last place. Eestimadnait at 4 victories has won the most times and they have done it in two consecutive victory streaks, but has also won the last place twice. The songs that performed 7th won the most, as many as five times, and the most popular language among the winners was English. A total of 70 songs were performed in 17 languages. A total of 33 countries passed through the jury - Solentoya voted the most - nine out of ten times, followed by Effiland and Svobodnia (seven times), and Bigicia and Moisantia (six times).

It was even more exciting at the WLSC - a total of five six victories, two second, three third places, and another 26 top 10 placements. The most successful era was between 202nd and 218th editions when the Griffin Empire made a string of 17 top 10 placements (including gold, two silver and two bronze medals). The most successful song is Heaven Is a Place on Earth, which collected 134 points, and the most unsuccessful was Hadise's Mesajımı Almıştır O, which collected only 17. A total of 14 languages were heard through songs of the Griffin Empire - 19 in English, 10 in Estonian, three each in Italian, French and Norwegian, two each in Turkish, Swedish and Serbian, and one each in Danish, Hungarian, Portuguese, Russian, Romanian and Dutch.

Thank you for your support, votes, points and songs. See you at Planigslæting.
Special thanks to Utopolis, Svobodnia, Effiland, Ugaly, Mormadorei, Gringotts, Öösingimäed, Endórë, Sween, Belvist, Rehi Kaita, Emsfrynt, Solentoya, Tanoiro, Moisantia, and Bigicia who, by voting, made this possible.

During the exciting evening of the eleventh Griffiniskaja Laul, we could hear everything from rap through indie pop to contemporary classical music, from English through Estonian to instrumental. Griffin televoting, assisted by an international jury from as many as 9 countries, decided to send the song "Vihje" to the next Waiting List Song Contest.

Mikael Gabriel, for whom this is his first appearance in this competition, did not hide his enthusiasm to share the main stage in the country with other Griffin stars. “I am absolutely proud of our song, our principality, my colleague, and all of our fantastic artists,” Gabriel said. The second part of this team - nublu is already known to the Griffiniskaja Laul audience since the first edition where he and rapper 5MIINUST won third place for his native principality Foreõsvdetrre. These two artists won by collecting a total of 117 points. In second place was the Principality of Õklingsmaa and the band Hugar with their composition "mist", while in third place was Jeremy Zucker from Pzyerüyölkeäe.

Griffiniskaja Laul was held in the world-famous Friskarrenaa in Frisköptislæting, the capital of the Principality of Färzas - Lætingmaa, which won the previous edition. The host of the festival was Marie, a former representative of the Griffin Empire at the Waiting List Song Contest.

FULL RESULTS CAN BE FOUND HERE: LINK

Thank you for your support.
Special thanks to Solentoya, Tanoiro, Sween, Effiland, Pyreica, Utopolis, Moisantia, Nauthinia Vallis and Mormadorei who, by voting, made this possible.
