Any rugby fans here? I know it's not that popular outside of the UK, Ireland, France and Oceania but it's a growing sport and becoming ever increasingly popular throughout Europe and the US.

Re: Rugby

It can be hilarious to watch.
It's really rough though, and players can suffer some really bad injuries and most rugby players tend to retire at a younger age than footballers.
And it's the only team sprt (that I can think of) where Ireland is one of the best teams in the world :p

Re: Rugby

France played very well the first 20 minutes (or was it that ireland was not there?). after that, it was a lot more complicated... World Cup will be very difficult this year...
If Blues won against Blacks in pools, they will loose in quarter against Scotland (as usual after wining the balcks).
If they loose, they will have to beat England (our ancestral ennemies), then Australia (our nightmare since november and the 16-59...) and finaly the Blacks (here, eveything is possible, we can be their nightmare)
So wait and see, hope it will be the year but actualy don't believe it...

Re: Rugby

Ireland didn't qualify for the quarter if I remember well. It was quite a shock. Actualy, the shock was Argentina finishing first of the pool, ahead of France and Ireland... When you think that most of argentinian players played in the french Top14, it's a shame
Anyway, this year, it would be ok for Ireland to qualify. even if Italy beat us in the last tournament, I don't think they're able to do like Argentina.

Re: Rugby

I hope we will have a good game this afternoon.
Ireland should be much more stronger than last week and for France, well, it's a completely different team than last week... Dussautoir will be not there (and god knows is a good player with a real impact on the french game) but Rougerie will come back after his injury. Really hope that he will make it as he's my favorite player of my favorite team in the french championship and he really deserve to go to new-zealand...

Re: Rugby

Ireland was amazing during the first 30 minutes, hopefully (for us) France came back in the game but it's another match where they didn't play full-time...
Rougerie made an excellent match so I'm really happy, but on the other hand, I feel so sorry for Jones, I hope he can still go to new-zealand...

waouh, Wales was so close! one of the best match i've seens in this first round (i didn't watch scotland/romania, australia/italy and fidji/namibia, too early :D).

quite a difficult beginning for the french team, especialy between 40 and 70 minutes. I hope they will solve everything for Canada.
