12 Points sure!

There are some countries that they always give 12 points each other. Like Turkey to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan to Turkey without any comment always 12 points. And also Balkan countries and Scandinavian countries and etc.

What you think about this unwritten rule? What is your comment? Can we avoid this? How?

1. Stupid unwritten rule! Just because it's a neighbour country doesn't mean it deserves the 12 points! Eg Cyprus gave 12 points to Greece in 2002 :shock: :shock: :shock:

The only way to stop this are the juries. The televoters will always give 12 points to Turkey/Azerbaijan, Greece/Cyprus, Romania/Moldova.

Although it was the same last year but otherwise I do not see a way to fix this "issue"

You can't avoid them with juries either! The juries are from music industry, so, as the Moldavian artists have their label in Romania they will score big at the juries too.

Romanian public always gives 10 points to Greece because it's the country where we prefer to spend our holydays!

But that's maybe because Israel received 8 points from Belgium last year. The belgian televoter would never do that but maybe the judges gave it very high marks

And I just checked the romanian jury gave their 12 points to Iceland last year....so you just never know.

Yes, but the Romanian jury gave 10 to Moldova last year and I don't think they deserved it! In 2008 Semifinals Romania gave 12 to Greece and 10 to Moldova because ,,Secret combination" was a big hit here. This year ,,Drip Drop" is a hit in Romania, but so is ,,Run away" so I don't know wich one will get the 12 points in the Final :roll: :roll:

The qualifiers last year would've been different, had the juries had a word.

I think this is something more than juries. Country's political situation and decision directly effecting votes, specially juries's votes.
There is only one way to avoid this. Just cancel the juries from each country. Make juries from outside (USA or any other) or make them from one neutral country from Europe.

I think Israel 2009 is the best (and most extreme) example that juries can have a great impact (and not only in Belgium, I mean 9th overall with juries, 25th overall with televoters :shock: ). On the other hand our jury didn't change anything to our expected 12 points going to Turkey that year (even though our jury only gave it 5 points, together with the 12 from televoting it still got 12 in the combined results). So yeah, juries do help against diaspora voting, but only have a limited impact. Oh, and Belgian televoting did give 7 points to Israel in the semis of 2008. Of course that was just due to good taste. 'The Fire in Your Eyes'
