Re: ????? - Tunisia

Tunisia applied to take part in 1977 and even got as far as being drawn 4th in the running order before withdrawing for unconfirmed reasons. In 2007, Tunisian broadcaster ERTT stated that the government has specifically requested they do not participate in Eurovision in the forseeable future (http://esctoday.com/news/read/8864), making this seem the last Tunisian dalliance in the Eurovision world for now.

Probably realising that Israel participates... at the last moment . Like Lebanon in 2005.

These countries are members of Ebu,so your complaints could go there.

I know they are, and I'm well aware of the current rules, however I'm totally oppose to them. EBU wouldn't care, they just want as much cash as possible.

Yeah, I think GRE is just guessing randomly. There WAS talk about Morocco to enter this year already (2012), but that fell through.

I mean if they'll act like Lebanon in 2005, there's no chance.

Anyway, I think ESC will be too big and weird, it wouldn't be EUROvision any longer imo.

I don't agree, because there's a line when if it gets too big, it'll just gets messy. I mean how many semi-finals do you want?

I'm perfectly fine with spin-offs like "Asiavision" or "Middle-east vision" or whatever, but I think Eurovision should well... stay as Eurovision.

It could be something similar to Football Worldchampionship. You have to be qualified in your own continent to go to the finals.

Thanx, but no thanx.

That might work with football, but this is a whole different type of contest.

Big NO to Worldvision, It wouldn't even technically work. It's an utopia.

I respect your opinion. But technically it would work. Look for example at the National Finals. Its the same. The participants have to be qualified in their own country. You can do the same with continents.

No it wouldn't work, because with all live-televoting and everything, it'll be too messy with the time zones differences.

Also, why Worldvision? Can't Eurovision stay as it is? There could be a parallel worldvision if that's what people want aswell, doesn't need to 'destroy' Eurovision for the rest who are fans of that concept. Also, I'll assure you it won't work out anyways, because they couldn't even work out Asiavision so far and that's just one continent.
