I'm quite sure that after Eurovision 2010 Eva's career will be changed dramatically as she will receive quite a lot of offerings of the promotion of her singing career worldwide.
She has everything-divine beauty,strong voice,intelligence.
Indeed she could be a "gold mine" for smart producers.
I wish Eva and Armenia good luck. This year you've made an excellent choice.Bravo!

Exclusive interview with Giorgos Alkaios ;)

Recently OGAE Armenia spoke with representatives of Greece Giorgos Alkaios & friends. Exclusive interview you can read below:)

Hello! We are very happy to talk with you. 10 points from OGAE Armenia are yours:)

What is the main reason to take part in the ESC?

Hello my friends! Eurovision was always a contest that I wanted to participate in. I believe that representing my country, especially with a song with Greek lyrics –after 12 years- is very fulfilling. Participating in the ESC does not only mean competing against fellow artists, it also means meeting and getting together with other people who share our passion for music.

What it feels like to represent a whole country at the ESC?

It is a great honor for me and my friends to represent Greece. It is the first time I have to give my best for my country, this is why together with my friends who we wrote the lyrics and sing together, we feel responsible to prove that Greece has a lot more to show in music industry. All the team we are musicians and the fact that we will meet so many producers from all over Europe, is just what I call real happiness, what makes me say “OPA”!

Will you disclose any details of your performance in Oslo?

He!he! We have started rehearsals and we still need to define some details, but as you may know the performance is full of dancing. The choreography is really strong and our choreographer has done a great job. Maybe because she is Armenian! Her name is Emy Zarian and she has an exceptional personality. By the way, she has participated also in ESC in 2007 with the greek artist Sarbel, as a dancer. As you understand, we all love Eurovision, we like the great atmosphere with everybody sharing this unique moment! On stage apart from me there will also be our lyre player and 4 dancers…I hope you will like our performance on stage but I cannot say more, surprise is always a surprise! Let’s talk again during the rehearsals!

Have you already listened the songs of other participants? Do you like the song by representatives of Armenia «Apricot Stone»?

Of course I have listened to many songs and I hope I will manage to listen to all of them! Most of the songs this year are ballads and mid tempo songs and I like many of them, but in Eurovision what counts is the combination of the song and the performance on stage. I might totally change my mind when I see the rehearsals so I don’t want to hurry. As for your entry, I met with Eva in Belgium and we had a great time together during our promo there. I wish to Eva’s “apricot stone” to make its round and… flourish on the Eurovision ground Apricot stone is a song that combines great rhythm with tenderness. I am sure you will have one of the top ranks in Oslo!

What in the whole process of Eurovision you like the most?

What I like the most till this moment is the feeling of the expectation I have to sing on the ESC stage. I know Norwegians are really organized and I expect a great song contest. As a person I like smiling and the fact that I hear from people all over that they love “OPA”, is what I like the most. Eurovision means music and this is why I love every single part of it!

What are your plans after the competition?

After Eurovision, I will be a musician full of experiences and what I have to do -and I am already planning- is to give many concerts together with my friends throughout Greece, USA and America. I might come to Armenia also, you never know!

What can you tell to Armenian fans and members of OGAE ARMENIA?

I can tell lots of things but it would be great if we could talk face to face. Will do this in Oslo all the time I hope! I want to share my great feeling about our song “OPA”, tell them that OPA is an exclamation of happiness, celebration and dancing and that all the preparation we do comes out of our soul and we hope it will mean something to you also. Good luck to Armenia and I think you know we love you! Everybody say Opa!

Thank you for the interview! Good luck in Oslo!:)

Armenia hopes to avoid politics at 2010 Eurovision

Eva Rivas, Armenia?s candidate at this year?s Eurovision Song Contest, will sing a song called ?Apricot Stone,? which tells of reuniting with one?s roots. Her publicist says there are no references to Turkey in the lyrics and that politics should not be a part of the contest. Rivas, meanwhile, has wished good luck to her Turkish counterparts, MaNga
Armenia hopes to avoid politics at 2010 Eurovision

Armenia’s candidate at the 55th Eurovision contest has no interest in making a political statement against Turkey, according to the singer’s publicist.

“We are not going there to make politics. We are not interested in politics at all. We trust in our candidate. All we want to do is to do the best for our country,” said Hayk Markosyan, who is representing Valeriya Reshetnikova Tsaturian, who uses Eva Rivas as her stage name.

A world citizen, the 22-year-old Rivas was born in Rostov, Russia to an Armenian mother and a half-Russian, half-Greek father. Known as the "Golden Voice of Rostov," Rivas has won a number of awards for the country’s music industry.

Overcoming tension from last year

During the contest at the end of May in Oslo, Rivas will sing “Apricot Stone,” which recounts the story of a mother telling stories of her imaginary homeland.

The song’s subject matter, however, has upset some in Turkey, who perceived the story of longing as a thinly-disguised reference to the traumatic events of 1915.

“Eva has never visited Armenia, neither has Karen Kavaleryan, the song-writer. ‘Apricot stone’ is a song about reuniting with the roots, with Armenia,” Markosyan recently told the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review in discounting the view.

“We are not after making politics in the competition; we are after fair play. We do not have the slightest hint at Turkey in our song,” said Markosyan, who is speaking on behalf of Rivas due to the singer’s tight schedule ahead of the song contest.

Markosyan said he hopes there will be no repeat of the tension that broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia after last year’s competition in which Azerbaijan closed down the SMS number for Armenia during the voting while prosecutors opened an investigation into those who had voted for Armenia.

Armenia, meanwhile, displayed an image of Nagorno-Karabakh on the screen during the voting.

Touching on these tensions, he said: “Starting with Turkey’s candidate MaNga, I wish good luck to everyone on behalf of my team. Let’s leave politics to politicians and gather in Oslo to do uniformly all the best for our countries. And let the best one win.”

Road to Oslo passes through Greece

Unlike the Inga and Anu? Ar?agyan sisters, who represented Armenia in last year’s competition while dressing in traditional clothes for their song “Jan Jan,” Rivas plans to give a dynamic performance in a more modern outfit.

“This song will speak to everyone, regardless of their nationality, that lives far away from the lands they belong to. As it is a modern song, it is also very sentimental,” he also said.

As in past years, Armenia’s entry will be in English because it is the most advantageous for international competition, Markosyan said.

Rivas is now touring Greece and Greek Cyprus, Markosyan said, adding that the two have shown a keen interest in her works, although she is also widely appreciated in Russia and Armenia because of her origins.

"Rivas will not only be supported by Armenia. There is also great support from Russia, Greece, and Greek Cyprus,” he said.

Exclusive interview with maNga

OGAE Armenia spoke to representatives of Turkey maNga. You can read the exclusive interview below:) 8 points from OGAE Armenia(3rd place)!

Hello! We are very happy to talk to you.

What is the main reason to take part in the ESC?

The proposal came from TRT (Turkish Radio and Television) right after the MTV EMA 2009 “Best European Act” award. We thought that after MTV Awards, to represent Turkey in Eurovision is a good chance for us to share our music. Also we are honoured to represent our country.

What it feels like to represent a whole country at the ESC?

To represent our country with a maNga song in a song contest which is watched by millions of people is very exciting and makes us very proud. At the same time, it gives us great responsibility since all our people expect a good result from us. We have to do our best !

Will you disclose any details of your performance in Oslo?

We are just preparing a special performance. EBU lets only six persons on stage and we are already fiveJ We are just working on a surprise performance which includes the 6th person.

Have you already listened the songs of other participants? Do you like the song by representatives of Armenia «Apricot Stone»?

From the beginning Armenia has been one of our favourites. We also like the songs of Denmark, Germany, Romania and Israel.

What in the whole process of Eurovision you like the most?

We do not see Eurovision as a competition, we see it as an international music festival and a great TV show. We like the idea of sharing our music with millions of people, representing our country and meeting other representatives from all different cultures; and as we say in our song “be the same with all of them even if for just one night”.

What are your plans after the competition?

After the MTV EMA 2009 “Best European Act” award, releasing an album in English became a priority for maNga. As soon as the ESC ends we are going to get into studio to create more songs in English. And also we want to make gigs all over the world.

What can you tell to Armenian fans and members of OGAE ARMENIA?

We hope you like our song. Thanks a lot for supporting us. Peace.

Thank you for the interview! Good luck in Oslo!:)
