I'll give this one a :10:.

There could've been worse replacements for Olly, still nothing reaches the level of "Balorda nostalgia" for me personally 💔 I understand his decision though, Eurovision is not for everyone. Especially with the ferocious and juvenile attacks from the toxic eurosphere.

This song may not be the first one I reach to to listen to but I still think it’s adorable and timeless and I will give it an :8:

NOOOO, Olly declined? I liked his song and his performance a lot, it would habe been my new no 1 by a huge margin. I would have given the song 10 points I guess.

Volevo essere un duro is the weakest :it: entry since 2014 for me. I’m very sad about this decision. In my opinion the song hasn’t really anything to offer, it doesn’t go anywhere… I don’t see this in the top 10 at all.

I’ll give it :4: generous points only because it’s Italy. Fine the song connects with many Italians, it doesn’t connect with me at all.

So the story of a very weak Eurovision year continues and continues… :( will there be any song I will truly like and fully support?

I really liked Olly’s song and was disappointed he didn’t want to go to Eurovision. As for Lucio Corsi’s song, I’m still getting used to it — not quite as into it yet. :cautious:

:5: - maybe it's a grower but for now, I don't think that this entry is memorable at all.
It's also my least favourite Italian entry since their comeback ("Brividi" wasn't my cup of tea, either).
Italy will definitely not be part of my personal Top 10 for a second time in "my ESC history".
I would have preferred Olly to Lucio but I don't really care that much because Olly's ballad wasn't my favourite in Sanremo either.

Do you really think in this weak weak weak year that Volevo essere un duro is one of the worst songs?

Lucio Corsi is a genius, he will get some great idea on stage (not Topo Gigio maybe but still some cool stuff) and despite I was an Olly supporter during Sanremo, Lucio was a great surprise and he had one of the best songs in Sanremo.

And I think Volevo essere un duro has more chances to win than Ich komme that at some point might be 1st in the odds.

4 points here. Musically speaking, it’s not particularly memorable, and in some parts, the singing feels more like a karaoke performance. I like him, though, but I don’t think the song is the best.

FULLY agree!

So far this would usurp most of the jury points.

Olly would have been a :7:, Lucio imo is a :10: because:

- his song is better than Olly's song
- his song Is more Eurovision friendly than Olly's song
- I expect a memorable staging. That's why: if someone like Lucio Corsi of all people was so thrilled at the idea to go to Eurovision, It means only one thing: he already has some ideas to deliver his message. He's a creative, I mean, she dueted with a mouse in Sanremo: we can expect everything from him.

I won't say I'm disappointed, since it's not like Olly was my favorite. Volevo essere un duro is not for me though, it wasn't even in my top 15 of the sanremo line-up. It's nice and Lucio comes across as a sweet and a bit quirky performer.
A :6: from me with love.
