The jury made quite a surprising decision with some of the acts in the end

I'm still in disbelief Raab let Feuerschwanz slip through (and kicked out Cage lmao). I thought for sure his speech at the end was supposed to prep the people for a Feuerschwanz exit. I don't see any reason to doubt a Feuerschwanz victory in the final (unless they introduce some final showdown between two acts a la Unheilig/Elaiza), they have by far the biggest fanbase and dominated every online poll I've seen. I'm almost glad the quality is so poor and disappointing now, imagine there was an actual gem that would face this inevitable loss lol

What an evening! First of all, most of the songs were not ESC-worthy. I had three acts with potential for ESC though with room for improvement:

Moss Kena: even though the song itself is weak, amazing voice and appeal!
Abor & Tynna: potential is there, but need to step up
Cage: Fantastic voice and appeal. Yes song was not so strong, but losing against Benjamin or Leonora?

Next point: The Juries: How can be Benjamin, Leonora be in the final while FFTS or Cage were eleminated?

Need to sleep over this. But right now I am team Moss and A & T!

I fear that the cheesy and unremarkable "Lovers on Mars" song will make it if it's 100% televote. Just based on demographics and taste of the typical audience of German TV.
IMO Abor and Tynna or Moss Kena are the only ones with a real chance at ESC. A bit disappointed in Raab in regard to the general selection this national finale, expected more.

I don't really see Lyza as a big threat to be honest. I feel like she simply doesn't have the Lena-like cuteness they so desperately want her to have lol.

I'm begging you Germany, on my knees!! xcry

If "Knightclub" wins, Raab, you will be guilty for another German POTATO in May, for letting this HORROR into the 100% tvt final! xgaah

I don't have courage to watch this next Saturday.. No, not at all... :(

Final is 100% televoting. Let's be honest. It's gonna be Feuerschwanz. Unless there will be a Super Final next week.

God, what a disappointment. I went from boredom to happiness to frustration in the span of a week haha.

Was I the only one furious about Stefan’s comparison of From Fall To Spring to Lordi and Lord of the Lost? Why is it that whenever an entry has the slightest amount of „metal“ in it, they get all clumped together? The correct equivalent to FFTS in terms of ESC participants would have been Blind Channel, heck, even maNga would have been closer to them than Lordi or LOTL.
Meanwhile he is perfectly capable to distinguish between the countless pop numbers and ballads, constantly referring to a „new and different site“ that the contestants apparently presented.
Sound mix for most of the performances was abysmal as well, what happened?

I am kinda dreading a win for Lyza now. I quite liked a lot of the songs as studio records, but despite being sung by capable singers, most of them really did not come to life live now, did they?

Raab criticised the song choices a bunch of times and then at the end before the decision he made some big statement that they have to consider which song might appeal to the ESC audience.

That makes me wonder why he chooses all of these songs he found lacking in the first place out of over 3000 candidates? There must have been better songs among those. Not to mention those he did like were practically never ESC material either.

Also the final jury decision was a bit stupid, too. They let some songs though who had less chances for a good place than some they eliminated.

Also the sound mixing was sometimes really horrible, at least for the louder songs. The live background music really hurt some acts because it was just not so good. Just some recorded background music which fit the songs perfectly would have been better.

Moss Kena might be the best choice of those in the final. At least he showed flawless vocals, while nearly everyone else in the final could have been better. He might get at least some jury points. Hopefully he might also romance with his love song and good looks some televoters.

Feuerschwanz is a fun song, but the video version is so much better. Their voices were weak live and the background music overpowered them completely which made it worse. A song with a lot of oomph don't just need it with instruments, but also with the voices. They were live a big disappointment.

The only alternative would be a Eurovision bubble + ARD winemoms coalition for Moss Kena lol. But I think the bubble still tries to make Baller happen

Personally I don't get the love for Baller to be honest. I wouldn't have even let it in the final. I don't think the song is good nor her voice impressive.

I think the televoters will most likely crash and burn it, too.

i haven't watched it til now, did raab say he wanted them to sing baller?
really surprising for me, i said before that i don't think they'd pick a song they released before the album
There was no saying it outright, but it felt very implied.

It's clear the acts applied with several Songs/in general, and for some several Songs were in the running and Raab gave the artists advice what to use. And his comments to Abor & Tynna sounded like he recommended Baller.

About the show: our NFs the last two years were better tbh. The Sound mixing was awful here (One could think they watched the Irish Eurosong), as was the camera - and there are basically no stagings? At least with NDR we kinda had those.

The songs were mostly fine but not fitting for ESC. The jury made quite unfitting jokes (Elton, retire already) and their comments just showed overall that they have ZERO knowledge of current day Eurovision. And their decisions made no sense. Raab gives a lenghty speech about taking into Account how the public will vote, and how they will have no regards for what will do well at Eurovision - and than he let's Feuerschwanz into the final? But Cage, who could at least appeal to the Juries with her vocals, gets kicked? From Fall To Spring get kicked, who at least are more modern than Feuerschwanz, and closer to the kind of Rock/Metal act that have worked at Eurovision before? Benjamin & Leonora through? Absolutely insane.

IMO, we had 4 good acts: FFTS, Cage, Abor & Tynna & Cosby (Though the singer here is not good enough live IMO). Half of them got cut lol

Moss is great, but his song is a -2/12, and no not even his charisma can save it. I'm rooting for Abor & Tynna now, but it will likely be Feuerschwanz - and than parts of the fandom will play surprised Pikachu when they come bottom 5.

I honestly think that we had more competitive NFs in 2023 and 2024.
I'm disappointed and quite shocked that we ended up facing 9 entries and none of would even finish Top 15 in May.

I think that Lovers On Mars and Moss Kena are alright but I don't think I will spend money on them next week.
Feuerschwanz is a trainwreck in the making as well. The chorus is alright (as part of a recap) but the whole song makes the whole experience quite unlistenable (even though I was rooting for them).

All in all, I'd have preferred Timpul or Semafoare from :md: to any of these songs.

The 3 rounds before thr final were utterly unnecessary...given the quality/material.
