oh la la
1. Our broadcaster doesn't care about Eurovision. Eurovision is unpopular here, everybody think we should withdraw because it's a waste of money.
2. Delegation is owned by people who have bad taste and believe we sould send divas wannabe with outdated boring ballads, hence overthrowing the usual international selection and pulling off a fake NF in order to give a chance to Joanna... to fail miserably in front of the audience with her piece of reject of Maltese Fest.
When we are there, it's more than a shame...
Now, I think that the selections since 2008 are rather wise and good.
Beforewards, indeed, it was indeed a big nonsense. Following the success of Natasha St-Pier, it was thought we could send eternally ballads and that one day we would win... Well it was also a time when cheesy songs were front side on the radios... (grace the Ortal paranthesis

Shame)
2007 : L'amour à la française is a song that had success in

. It was badly rendered on stage. People didn't understand. But we thought it would be good. Les Fatals Picards still have a big success.
2008 : Sébastien Tellier was a great bet. He didn't take it seriously and then lost a lot of points by singing terribly... Still, he's one of the most important alternative DJs in the world and it's good for Eurovision to have been graced by such an artist.
2009 : Patricia Kaas is one of the biggest artists ot have come to Eurovision lately. It warrants nothing, we've seen that. She had a great song, with great lyrics, but difficult to sell. And she was 3rd... Had she been at the end of the evening, her fate could have been different. And let's add 2009 was a tough final.
2010 : Jessy Matador was apparently a good (last minute) pick as it came high. And could have been higher if he could sing...
2011 : Amaury Vassili. We thought he would win. He sadly failed, but his hype showed he had a great song. The live was really underwhelming, because of our crappy delegation...
2012 : Anggun... We love her so much. She's a great and nice person but she picked a bad song... he thought it was "Eurovision" and noone in the delegation could imagine it was not a wise pick..

2013 : Amandine was a controversy. I'm proud of her. Unfortunately, she didn't take it too seriously, was exhausted at the end of the week because (as a Mengoni) she took more time in Euroclub than in rehearsals... And in the end, Mr. Björkman gave us the 1st place in the draw, so that she was burried alive...
All these persons are successful artists. I don't know if Twin Twin will meet success as well. It's not impossible. People spat a lot on Matador, and praised him a lot when he topped French charts... Let's see...
