Earlier this month, further details were unveiled for this year’s Eurovision Village at Pier Head. Now with just 70 days to go until Eurovision, more information on other events in the city have been revealed via the Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool’s party district, the Concert Square will be transformed with the inclusion of street performers, tribute acts and hosts to celebrate Eurovision with fans. The Pub Invest Group’s popular venues such as Soho Liverpool and Fusion in collaboration the Euro Fans Club will broadcast Eurovision events live and deliver a week of Eurovision events. A large viewing screen will hopefully feature in the Square for everyone to enjoy the live shows.
The week of celebrations will begin on 8 May with live broadcasts of semi-finals every night. It has been revealed that famous and familiar names will feature such as Katrina from Katrina and the Waves (1997 Eurovision winner), James Newman (UK 2021), Rasmussen (Denmark 2018) and Kate Ryan (Belgium 2006) just to name a few.
Other sister venues of the Group will also host Eurovision events such as drinking games and giveaways at La’go and the Cheers and Revolver seeking the expertise of numerous drag hosts to help present and host quizzes and “Abba-esque makeup stations” for fans.
You can buy tickets and find out more about the Euro Fans Club’s plans for the week here. Regardless of where you intend to celebrate Eurovision in Liverpool, it is expected to be an exciting week of celebrations for everyone.
