After today’s earlier announcement that the allocation draw will take place next week, the details of Eurovision 2022 in Turin are starting to take shape. Hosting rumours are in full swing, with an announcement expected soon, and best-selling Italian singer Tiziano Ferro is the latest to be added to the list of rumoured hosts for the Contest.
According to TvBlog, much-beloved singer Tiziano Ferro is a last-minute contender for the competitive job of hosting Eurovision. Ferro is said to be an ideal candidate given that he has a large international following and he speaks both English and Spanish fluently. Avid Sanremo fans might remember Ferro as one of the main guests of Festival di Sanremo 2020, where he won over Eurofans’ hearts with his charismatic performances of Italian classics. He is known worldwide for his hit single ‘Perdono’, released in 2001.
Other rumoured hosts for Eurovision 2022 include ex-X Factor host Alessandro Cattelan, British singer Mika and world-famous Laura Pausini.
The announcement of who will host Eurovision is set to take place in the next couple of weeks and could very well happen during Sanremo itself. Festival di Sanremo 2022, which will select Italy’s host entry for this year’s Eurovision, will take place at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo from Tuesday, the 1st of February until Saturday, the 5th of February.
