And there we have it, what a shocking first night of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Nineteen acts gave it their all to reach the grand final but ultimately only ten countries could make it through to Saturday’s final… and there were some against the odds qualifiers!
The ten acts that reached the final are;
- Albania
- Czech Republic
- Lithuania
- Israel
- Estonia
- Bulgaria
- Austria
- Finland
- Ireland
- Cyprus
Later on in the evening, at the winners’ press conference, all ten of the acts picked their draw halves for the final. These are the allocations for the final running order;
First Half – Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Albania
Second Half – Cyprus, Israel, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Finland, Ireland
We now turn our attention to the second semi-final, where eighteen more countries will perform. We will be back with the live streams tomorrow as the first dress rehearsal begins at 14:00 CET so stay tuned to #escYOUnited for further updates from Lisbon!

It’s such a shame Belgium, Greece and Belarus did not qualify.. But reality is every year there will be dissapointments for all. And saying that, as much as I love Belarus song he was very nervous in his performance, you could see his hand shaking so much! Effected his vocals. And Belgium, such a moody, soultry song deserved better staging, not her moving about with audience and flags behind her- took away from the song!
And I fear that after not qualifying with such a gorgeous song sung in Greek, they will reserve to entries in English again!
