As Eesti Laul approaches, Estonian broadcaster ERR has revealed this year’s hosts of the national selection.
After a gap year, 2021 presenters Grete Kuld and Tõnis Niinemets will return to host the competition once again.
“Eesti Laul is one of the most exciting projects and, to be honest, the biggest celebration of Estonian music,” the hosts said in a statement to ERR. “The atmosphere created in the hall during these live shows is indescribable. It is a privilege to be a part of it and to be part of the process.”
In addition to hosting the two semi-finals and final throughout January and February, the pair will host a show called “Eesti Laul 2023. Start” on Dec. 2, during which the competing songs will be revealed.
Estonia released the full list of participating artists in October, which includes the return of past fan favorites such as Anett x Fredi, Elysa, Sissi and more. Ultima Thule, who planned to collaborate with Wiiralt on the song “Salalik (Secretive)” withdrew from the competition following the death of their lead singer, Riho Sibul, 64.
