Our “Expert” Panel continues for another year, with 15 members of the ESC United team having sat down to review the hopefuls that were set to represent their nations at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam!
As a quick reminder, the rules of our “Expert” Panel are simple; our team provide a score for each entry between 1 and 10, with .5 scores also possible – 1 being terrible and 10 being a perfect score and an amazing entry. Each entry will also have a video, where Matt will discuss the entry with three members of the panel and provide their rationales for their points for the song.
Time to see which song is next up…
We move on to a country from the Iberian peninsula, Portugal! Portugal used their good old “Festival da Canção” to determine their entry for the 2020 edition of Eurovision as usual, and while Elisa ended up winning neither the televote, nor the juryvote, she did end up victorious in the end! How will she end up on our ESC United scoreboard? Only one way to find out!
#YOU can see below how Matt, Gabe, Holly and Conor reacted to the Portuguese entry;
We now know four of the scores, but our team is bigger, so what did everyone else give to Elisa’s song?

But what does this mean for our ranking? In the end, Portugal earned an average of 5.95 across our jury, meaning they end up just outside the top ten on our current scoreboard, with Iceland staying top.
