We’re powering through our list of dream artists for 2016, with three already decided. Time to add a fourth, for the microstate of San Marino. Who did you want? Will it be a surprise?
Of course not! It was never in doubt – Valentina Monetta achieved the biggest landslide from all 48 countries and was the overwhelming favourite of our readers and forum members to represent her country.
Valentina of course represented San Marino between 2012 and 2014, achieving a surprise qualification in her last participation. She was succeeded as Sanmarinese performer by Michele Perniola and Anita Simoncini this year in Vienna but she was dearly missed by many who have grown a cult attachment to the Eurovision star!
Second in our poll by quite a margin was fellow former participant Senhit, with all other suggestions having at least tried to represent San Marino at some point.
