Another day in the 2023 national final season, which only means, more songs to listen and discuss about. Today is Denmark’s day, as the national broadcaster (DR) has finally decided to present the 8 acts that will compete in less than a months time, for the Danish ticket to Liverpool.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2023
As usual, Denmark is doing what they’ve done for decades, by selecting the representative through the traditional national final. 2023 marks the 3rd year in a row, that only 8 acts will partake in the Danish selection, which used to be 10 prior to 2021.
In 2023, the show will take place on the 11th of February 2023 in Næstved Arena. Which will mark the first time the show takes place on the same island as the capital city of Copenhagen, but for the first time outside the Capital Area.
These are the eight acts who will compete for the Liverpool ticket:
- Søren Torpegaard Lund – “Lige Her”
- Nicklas Sonne – “Freedom”
- EYJAA – “I Was Gonna Marry Him”
- Frederik Leopold – “Stuck On You”
- Maia Maia – “Beautiful Bullshit”
- Mariyah LeBerg – Human
- Micky Skeel – Glasbillede
- Reiley – Breaking My Heart
The winner will be decided will be decided by a combination of a jury and public votes, and once again viewers can vote through the official DMGP app. The show will be once again hosted by Tina Müller and her new partner in crime Heino Hansen.
It’s now been two years in a row, that Denmark has failed to reach the final, last year the girl power group REDDI was selected to represent Denmark with the song “The Show“.
