The deadline for entries to be submitted to DR for the Danish national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2016, has now passed and the Danish TV station have received a record number of songs submitted for judgement.
982 songs have been sent to the broadcaster, that is almost 300 more than in 2015, and is a record amount of songs to be submitted to a Danish national final.
The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Sweden, the two previous occasions the contest was held in Sweden, Denmark ended triumphant, in 2000 in the Globe Arena (where the 2016 contest will be held) The Olsen Brothers stormed to victory with their song “Fly on the wings of love”, the next time Sweden hosted the contest, in Malmö, Emmelie de Forrest set the scoreboard alight with her barefooted performance of “Only Teardrops”.
From these 982 songs, only one will be crowned the Danish representative of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, who will it be? The winner will be announced on the 13th of February 2016 in Forum Horsens.
